Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera
I bought my Mum this webcam. I then bought myself the same one. The problem I am having is the echo. I have ticked the box marked cancel echo. There is a bad echo from both sides. Just before I bought this webcam I had logitech headphones which seemed to be better. There was NO echo when my Mum spoke but when I did there was an echo and a delay from my side? I wanted the inbuilt microphone so that we could all talk at the same time instead of passing around the headphones. Could you please help.
There are a couple of ways to go about this. You can download a Microsoft Update KB900485 which is an acoustic echo canceling driver. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=404280BF-B240-4A34-AE0E-798CDED8CBAF&displaylang=en This specific fix is a random timing bugcheck when using two-way audio. There is also a paych you can download from Logitech. http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/quickcam.html Or, you can try buying another microphone and using it instead of the built-in microphone.

I have the same problem. I'm using Logitech stereo headphones with microphone which produced brilliantly clear communication. When i installed Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX it all turned to custard, massive echo and broken speech on each end. Please don't suggest buying something else. If can't be remedied, will be returning this webcam and cannot recommennd it.
