How do I get the thread from the bobbin to the needle

  • glassz Jan 12, 2009

When my mother died I was given her LS-2125, without the owners manual. I have attempted to get a copy from the links given here but the Adobe document will not completely load. I get about the first 10-12 pages but then an error message pops up saying the document did not load correctly and do I want to reload or quit. After about a dozen tries I gave up in frustration. Does anyone know where I can purchase the manual?

    Thanks for any help.

It's hard to describe such a process to someone, but a quick internet search would get you something like this to help you out: http://www.ehow.com/how_5839_thread-sewing-machine.html

Thread breaking, not even threaded in needle anymore, thread gets caught on spool sometimes

Upper thread breaks
1.the needle may be bent or damaged--try rolling the needle on a flat surface to see if it's bent or not
Or the needle could be in backwards
Correct needle insertion
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine or if using a round needle--the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
2.upper tension may be to tight--try 3 to 5
3.thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint
???
Lower thread breaks
The most probable cause of lower thread breaking is improperly wound bobbin
1.always start with a empty bobbin
Never wind one color over the other
2.choose thread that is identical in color & type as the one to be used for upper threading
3.wind the bobbin evenly across & in layers
4.don't wind the bobbin so full that it would be tight & hard to insert into bobbin case
5.bent bobbin--replace
6.lint built up in the bobbin case--frequent cleanings will eliminate this problem, the more often you use the sewing machine the more often it needs to be cleaned
7.thread catching on the bobbin spring or latch on bobbin case, check to see that the bobbin is inserted completely & correctly, & that you are using the right kind of bobbin

for the top & bobbin thread keep thread tails of 3 to 6 inches long pulled behind the needle before you start sewing

yes, sometimes the thread will get caught on the spool, you might think about getting a extra holder that sets behind the machine to hold those spool's that the thread get caught on, that's what I did.

White sewing machine 2037 I have been having trouble for some time with the bobbin thread becoming snarled. Finally took it apart and cleaned it, which helped. When I sat down to sew a blanket tonight,...

Hello. What you have described presents a large number of possibilities. What I can tell you is this; A sewing machine that uses a bobbin is known as a lock stitch sewing machine. On a basic lock stitch machine, two threads are used to make the stitch - the needle thread and the bobbin thread. In order for the stitch to be made, the bobbin and it's thread are passed through a loop in the needle thread, or more accurately, the needle thread must pass a loop around the bobbin and it's thread, after which the loop is pulled back in and up, taking the bobbin thread with it right up to the underside of the fabric and securely holding it there and the process is repeated, many times over in the blink of an eye. The bobbin, weather placed in a case first or or set directly into, has a place in the center of a rotating hook, which can be oriented in either a vertical or horizontal position. It is the sharp, pointy hook that grabs the needle thread above the eye of the needle and loops the needle thread around the bobbin and it's thread. In less than one full rotation of the hook the needle thread is picked up, looped around the bobbin, and pulled back off of the hook, taking with it the bobbin thread and pulling it up tight to the bottom of the fabric. The process is then repeated, many times over in the blink of an eye. For a sewing machine to function correctly, every aspect of the process must be right, and if any part of the process is not spot-on, failure occurs. Process failure ranges in severity from one stitch out of a thousand skipped to catastrophic breakage of the machine and it's parts. I'm sorry I don't know of a White repair shop in your area. I am new to FixYa, so I'm not sure if it is appropriate to offer my services, but I think it is okay to give you my number if you want to call me. It is 574-808-9613.

I need to know how to thread my tcm sewing machine as i have no instructions as it was given to me thank you

I do not know this model but why don't you visit www.about.sewing.com, there is good general threading information there as well as care and maintenance tips for sewing machines. Older machines need oiling, many modern ones have nylon parts or oiling wicks so not required so often. If you can see red marks on parts of the machine, these are usually oiling spots.

sewing machines are usually horizontal top loading bobbins where the bobbin goes into a bobbin holder and the thread gets clicked into a tension spring.

Or vertical front loading bobbins inside a removable bobbin case with a tension spring on the outside of the bobbin case.

Top threading up is usually through a number of eyelets, through a tension device of some sort, then down to the needle.

Remember, the scarf (cut out) of the needle should face to the back of the machine. Most domestic sewing machines use 130/704H needle system and the needle has a flat shank which goes to the back in the needle holder so you get this right.

You can also try www.sewingpartsonline.com or www.sewusa.com, both list some instruction manuals and threading diagrams for some makes and models.

I broke a needle and now it wont pick up bobbin tread

Hello

Make sure the needle is facing in the correct direction, stitches don't form, or skip badly when the needle is turned around.

Put the bobbin in the bobbin case (right way around) leaving a 2-3" tail.

Thread the top of the machine correctly, leaving a 3-4" tail after threading the needle.

make certain your bobbin in locked into position in it's case and the thread is coming from the bobbin in the correct direction. When holding my metal bobbin in my hand, the thread pulls counter clockwise before placing it into my front loading bobbin case.

Also check if the needle is not properly installed in the needle bar,the machine is not threaded properly or the machine needs adjustment or repair..

Sewing machine won't raise the bobbin thread

Hi. The two main reasons why the top thread doesn't pick up the bobbin thread is either the needle is inserted wrong or the needle is bent. Since your machine was sewing properly until the thread broke, I'd be inclined to think the needle may have gotten bent. Sometimes this can happen if you sew over a pin.

Change the needle (making sure the flat side of the needle shank is inserted properly for your machine) and see if that solves the problem. Let me know if it helps, ok?

Not picking up the Bobbin thread

I cleaned the machine good with canned air, oiled it. I took out the bobbin case and cleaned it good also. I then noticed the tension screw on the bobbin case was loose, tightened it and the problem was fixed.
