I'm tring to connect a Netgear WGT624 to my home computer (Windows XP). I have internet through Comcast Cable. I've followed all intructions and even restarted in the correct sequence each time. On my Netgear router the lights on the front are the power light and the # port my compter is plugged into. I have the router and the modem connected to one another by an ethernet wire. The cable is going directly into my modem. For some reason, when I try to configure the router it keeps telling me it can't connect to the internet. Any help will be appreciated!!
I am in the UK and have found through experience the Netgear's seem to work perfect on a BT line (equivalent of AT & T)
but not on the cable.
I would suggest purchasing a Linksys by Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router as these seem to install in minutes,
saves me hours of wasted time when setting up wireless networks.

I've connect Linkisys before with no problem and will probably get another if this doesn't work. I was given this router (new) from my aunt who has DSL but couln't get the router to work for her and then realized her modem was a wireless router as well. We figured the problems she had came from conflict of two wireless routers. THanks for the help.
my netgear router wgt624 signal strength low please help me solve this probleme
