SOURCE: multi coloured vertical stripes on plasma screen
With half of the screen working, and with a Plasma tv. I will look at the driver board as being bad. Take the back cover off, the driver pcb will be at the top or bottom of the set. They are only about 2 inches tall and will cover most of the lenth of the set (2 boards that run end to end). The board that is on the side of the tv that is bad is the bad board. Replace that board or have a tech replace it.
SOURCE: On my LCD TV. a series of vertical colored lines
First you can try adjusting the cable to the LCD Controller (LCD CONTROLLER 6870C-0080D from LG 42LC2D) Sometimes the contacts get out of alignment and disconnecting/reconnecting it will clear it up. Do not touch the contact points.
If this does not work, you may have to replace it.
SOURCE: I have a videocon 42
What you need is known as a "Z buffer" or "address buffer".
It is a board located UNDER the display.
Can't tell you the board number because you do not mention the TV model, but if you are up to replacing it yourself you better get to there anyway and see the model printed on the board itself.
There are usually two boards underneat in the 42'' models, sometimes three, but usually two.
You need to find the one located where the vertical line shows and replace it.
Replacement is not hard, but requires a bit more unscrewing because those boards are usually covered by metal shielding / heatsink, which usually has quite a few metal screws.
Other than that, though, it is not hard.

Hello,
Yes the problem can be fixed.
The problem is from the t-com board of your television. Have it replaced and your television will be in good condition once again.
Take care
