Downgrading from 5.02 on PSP

Why are people downgrading from 5.02 on their PSP 1001? I just bought a 1001 and upgraded from 2.80 to 5.02.

A lot of people downgrade because of PSP's added restrictions on pirated games and third party stuff. But that raises a question that why do they upgrade on the first place then. Because PSP does offer great features on upgraded system, like Skype and others.

Since the firmware is so so high (above 5.03) a battery is needed for it, your very lucky as many people have 3000s and even a pandoras battery wont work for them. so thing is i have one, i can make them, but i cant just downgrade a psp with 5.51 wtihout battery and also a proper memory card.

Help

If you have a PSP-1001 or PSP-2001, you can downgrade your psp from 6.10 with a service or pandora battery. If you have a PSP-3001 you are out of luck.

You can create a service (pandora) battery and the 'magic' memory stick from any psp-1001 already running custom firmware. You can also buy them online, and if you look in the local classified ads website where you live, you can probably find people offering a downgrading service.

I cannot run through the steps here but tutorials are all over the net and sites like youtube.

Frozen psp

Hi davidjuarez1,

You can downgrade/upgrade the firmware of your PSP. Visit pinoypsp.com or check any website that can guide you on how to properly flash your firmware to fix issue. Frozen PSP is usually a firmware issue, upgrading/downgrading it solves the problem.

Thanks,
Marvin

Upgrading firmware

if you downloaded the new version, you should just run the update under the the memory stick in the games section. there is no need to downgrade ever.
