My problem with no picture is a bit different. I was cleaning the back of my 360(I forgot to turn it off) and I accidentally flipped the switch from TV to HDTV, I flipped it back to TV and When I turned it on, sound but no picture, just blue svreen that says video from my TV, now heres the weird part, I have two av cables, when I fool around with it, unplug the cable from the back while its on(then replug it), turn on & off several times, but...when I switch to my AV Cable that does not have an HDTV switch, the picture sometimes comes up when I power it up, the I'll turn it off for a minute, turn it back on and the picture comes back again and again(Happy camper), but then Terqouise color engulfs the other colors for about two minutes, then it goes away, then red color engulfs the other colors and then goes away(this happens constantly), then after its off for hours and hours, then turn it on, no picture. Is it the TV, Thhe 360, the Cable or what? I'm at my whits end, I am thinking about buying a replacement 360, somebody prevent me from spending more money(this is my second 360, the 1st 1 died at the 3 red rings).
Could it be from me packing it in & out of a suitcase for 1 month while on a roadtrip, all the bumping and banging the suitcase did could have broke it, when I returned home on Nov. 15th, It worked fine until 2 days ago (tuesday)......Someone help me.
Not a solution, but - your 360 will be repaired for free if you get the 3 rings. This repair goes beyond the normal guarantee because it an inherent fault. Go to www.xbox.com for info.

Well the main solution that you're going to get from Microsoft is to unplug everything from your console and your TV and then wait a couple minutes and plug it back in while everything is off. If the problem still persists, instead of buying a new 360, try borrowing a friend's AV cable and see if that works. Try not to unplug or replug anything while the console or TV is still on. Or it could just possibly be all of the jostling around in your suitcase and nothing has come loose enough to stop working until now. Sorry I can't be more helpful, these are just some ideas.

Could be something as simple as the wrong settings on the TV/360. Also it could be an internal issue, generally associated with the (H) ANA chip (the chip responsible for E74) as it handles the video output. If it's not the settings, and if the console is under warranty send it in to MS. If not, find a reputable person to help you out.
In any case you will more than likely have an E74 console very, very soon.
First try removing any accessories (for eg HD drive, hard drive or network adaptor) from the console and turn on 360. Plug each device back in one by one and turn on to check which device possibly causing the problem.
You should also try using another 360 AV cable sometimes this is the culprit.
If the above methods made no difference then the Xbox 360 might be overheating and which will eventually lead to RROD (Red Ring Of Death - 3 red ligthts) or E74 error message (1 red light) indicating repair.
You can buy the repair kit off ebay from £4 - £7 and carry out the repairs yourself with plenty of Youtube videos on the net just google it or if dont dont feel confident i can repair for you.
This happened to my first 360, and in my case, it was a hardware failure. You can call Microsoft and hope your warranty is still good, and they'll fix it free of charge, but if its not, then you have to pay a fee.
DO NOT USE THE TOWEL ONE!!!
THE TOWEL ONLY HEATS IT UP MORE AND THE 2 X CLAMPS INSIDE WILL VIBRATE ONLY 2 MAKE THE MAIN XBOX CHIP 2 COME OUT OF ITS PLACE....
SO THIS IS WHAT U DO!!!
First Get a Screw driver and take out the covers of the xbox and ull see a metal sheeting. Then take out all the screws from the metal board. then take out the other things (take out the fan last) Then If its the graphics chip thats broken then u need a new one but if its out of place, replace it and put the xbox bak 2gether. The the prob shud not happen again. This is what happened 2 me only last week. it shud only take 30 mins 2 fix.
But the other prob could be the cord cause the cord might be old faulty or broken cause my friend had dat prob.
disconnect the av cables and clean the caseing around them and on the back of the 360 try that and see if that works also is there any red lights on the system? if so please advise.
This Just happened to me. There seems to be a lot of solder issues with the 360. I bit the bullet and tried the towel trick, where you over heat the 360 for about 20 min. I Let it cool for 20 more min, and it now works fine, I have a inner cooler now to keep from overheating again.
