Xbox 360 - red light

I figured out that i can write you for any questions about the xbox.
My boyfriend got an xbox 1 1/2 years ago when he came back from down range.
Yesterday he tried to turn it on and tried to start a game and the game stopped after 3 min and the picture was frozen. He turned it off. Waited a little bit and turned it back on the same thing happend again and it poped and maid a weird fizzling sound.

Now when he turns it on it makes a clack sound and the red light on front is coming on. What can he do.
I read this artile about the xbox 360 and microsoft.
Is there a chance that they come up for the repair since he didnt do anything to that machine. If yes could you give me a contact for sending it in.
My Email. [email protected]

Yeah, 'popping and fizzing' does not sound good at all, send it back to Microsoft! It also looks like you have the Three Red Lights problem, this is a 'general hardware failure' and you should really send it back, your warranty would still have to be in place though.

Best guess? It over-heated and fried the harddrive. Its toast bro, Microsoft is not going to honor any type of anything on the original X-Box anymore, no way. I have an original X-Box that works perfect, i'll sell it to you for $30 if you'd like =D

Games won't read when they are insterted into my xbox 360

Your DVD-ROM drive2.gif has failed. I had this same issue about a year ago.You will need to call the XBOX support line if your system is still within the manufacturers warranty. (1-800-4MY-XBOX) If they will be doing the repairs you will normally get your system back within 3-4 weeks.

Does it have the three rings of death? Microsoft extended the warranty to three years so send it in to them.

3red flashing lights

Hey Tafari, It's an overheating issue that is common in xbox 360 models made between a certain date range. I had the same problem a few months ago.

All you gotta do is contact Microsoft tech support and provide them with your serial number. They'll ask you a couple of questions and then they'll get you to ship them the 360. (They pay for shipping)

They'll try to repair it, but if your lucky like me, you might get a new xbox 360 with 1 month of xbox live for free.

Hope this helps. Worked for me, should work for you.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

"a period of one year (three years for conditions that cause three lights on the ring of light on the front of the Console to flash red) starting as of the date of your sales receipt for the purchase of the Console, or (ii) as applied to an Accessory, a period of 90 days starting as of the date of your sales receipt for the purchase of the Accessory"

So 1 year from the day you buy it of any damage to it.

Then 3 year warranty of the "3 red lights" (red ring of death) couple weeks ago (including me) experienced the 3 red lights, so Microsoft extended everyone's warranty for another 3 years only on the 3 red light issue.

I've only had to send in my 360 1 time and that was of the red lights, other then that no problems.

I hope this helped, also you can connect that Xbox at 1800-4my-xbox for any questions.

Thanks & Good luck!

Haier 42 inch plasma

Many of the issues with this hunk of junk can be fixed by Sears through a "3 cards and a chip" upgrade - Sears will order the parts for you after they come out and see that sure enough, your monitor hasn't been upgraded (after the upgrade is completed, a sticker is placed on the monitor) which you most likely haven't had done. The chip will fix the problems you're having. I claimed this as "manufacturers issue" with Sears, since they know about the problems with these monitors and they did the work for free. The parts need to be ordered by their tech rep, then they are sent to your house, with instructions and if you're a little handy you can install everything yourself.
