There was a puddle infront (not under) my dishwasher last night. I think my drain is clogged. It is a base model Admiral Ultima. There are no screws holding the basket. Does it just pry out? I tried a baking soda/vinegar solution to try to clear the clog. A pot of boiling water afterwards does not drain at all. Should it be draining when the dishwasher is off? Any other ideas on what my problem/solution is?

SOURCE: don't spin or drain

Hi, just wanted to let you know we have a simliar prob. found out today that it was the water pump. I removed it and was checking it out . when i turned it over i found out that the bearing sleeve seperated and the loose bearings stopped the pump from working. and wouldn't allow the washer to spin. most places i checked so far the replacement assembly will run approx. 80.00 +/- plus tax.

SOURCE: Admiral machine will agitate, but will not drain or spin

Agitating and Spinning are from one motor. Pumping is not controlled by the same motor. If the pump is bad, it won't pump. Pump can be checked by measure the resistance of its terminal, and its measurement should not be open. If pump is good then the problem is from the pump controller. If pump is bad, then you know what to do.

SOURCE: My admiral washing machine will not drain.

While you have it all apart, look into the pump. Does it appear to be clogged with anything? Does it appear to be intact? No broken blades or worn down parts? If it does not appear broken, put it back together. Leave the panel off and cycle the machine through all it's functions and see if the motor is running at all, you may have to fill it (use small load function) to get it to work unless you know how to bypass the water level switch (I will not tell you how as it would take too long). I'm not 100% sure on this but believe the pump works when motor goes one direction and the gear box works when motor runs the other (varies from machine to machine and I am not an appliance tech) and if your motor is not able to run both ways it will not pump out or spin either. You didn't mention spin so suspect it didn't get that far.

My dishwasher will not drain completely

Most likely, the drain pump is clogged or the filter for the main pump is clogged with goo. If, during the drain cycle, water is just "peeing" into the drain line or sink drain, something is clogged. Broken glass, food, bones, etc., can find a way into the main pump mech or into the drain pump. You didn't specify what model washer you have but check the round removable filter found in a lot of Frigidaire dishwashers. Yours could be square, rectangular, etc. Get the users manual if you need help finding out how to clean the filter! Remember, if water can't move freely through the filter, your washer won't spray strongly either. Also, dishwashers will not drain out every drop of water--they will drain past where you can see the water but there will always be a small puddle of water in the motor. This keeps the seals moist and prevents dry-rotting, cracking and leaking.

WHY DOES THE MOTOR ON MY SAMSUNG DISHWASHER RUN ALL THE TIME AND THE LIGHT ABOVE HEAVY BLINK?

Yes, you've got a leakage error, which means water has leaked down into the base of the dishwasher. The drain pump runs all the time, trying to get all the water out, but the drain pump can't get to the water down in the base. (Those North Korean engineers/designers aren't too bright.) You'll have to pull the dishwasher out, pull off the side panels, and dry up all the water before that drain pump will stop running. But you still have the problem of figuring out where the leak came from and fixing the problem before you can use the dishwasher. The most common source of leakage in a Samsung DW is the drain pump and/or drain hose.

What do i do to fix error code OE on my LG dishwasher

Based on what it mentioned on the LG website it is an error indicating a drainage error. The solution might be to clean the drain filters at the base, check drain hose under kitchen sink and behind dishwasher for kinks or blockages. On make sure the kitchen sink drain is not blocked. Worst scenario is a clogged drain pump. you will have to provide the model number for any further analysis.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose-filter assembly or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter located inside the front bottom panel for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. Take off the bottom access panel to clean the drain pump filter and hose. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My bosch dishwasher will not drain and makes a humming noise

Humming noise is an indication of your drain motor getting power but not spinning. Either your drain pump is defective and needs to be replaced, or something is stuck in the pump preventing it from draining out the water. Either way you will have to take the dishwasher out and get at the pump from the bottom of the machine.

My dishwasher won't drain

It is possible that it ran thru the entire cycle but was unable to drain teh waste water ( usually the result of a clogged filter screen in the bottom of your dishwasher).. I suggest you either hand bail the water out and look for the drain filter screen or check where the drain hose is hooked up under your sink and possibly into the side of a garbage disposal..That could be clogged up too... Hope that helps...
