Where can I get an owner's manual for an AT&T model 1810 phone and answering machine? The voice mail is not working and the nuimber of voice messages indicator light is flashing "0" Batteries are ok. We disconnected the electrical and phone connections long enough to paint around the outlets and reconnected both. We also have a caller ID system connected to the phone and it works ok. No issues with making outgoing calls.

It maybe hardware issue. Make sure the recording DTAM chip is working. You can try to record your personal annoucement, to see if the chip still record message.
SOURCE: #1739 answering machine hooked up but keeps asking for "password"
The unit appears to be stuck in "message retrieval mode) and is asking for your password to give you access when you call in(remote answering). You need to return the unit to it's factory default settings. If you don't still have the instructions you can get them here:http://telephones.att.com/docMgt/public/art/309494/1739_manual.pt2.pdf. Hope this helps!
