Cassette jammed after camera dropped

SonyDigital Handycam (DCR-TRV310) camera knocked off desk while setting up to download video to computer -immediately started beeping and flashing error 31:11 and then 32:11 - cannot eject tape -door won;t even open. Tried all the posted "fixes" about removing batteries, and plugging in, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

How do I eliminate droput of audio/video upon playback?

If it is an old tape which has been used before, there may be creases caused where the pinch wheel pressed against the roller. Try again with a brand new tape. If this is not the issue, he a service is called for.

Hello,
Have you taken a look at Sony's support site? Here's the link for your camera. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=DCRHC36
Choose your computer's operating system and then the software from the drop downs. Then click the download link from the list below.

Sony DCR TRV310

Spent and afternoon online with the tech....the best they could come up with was that I wasn't using an authentic Sony iLink cable. $40 later it still didn't work. (BTW it was previously working on standard firewire cables just fine) We tried it on different computers, different cables, etc.
I strongly suspect that the firmware has changed in the camera. No one seems to know of a way to reset or re-flash it. Looks like I'll have to replace or repair it.

I hope your luck is better.

DCR TRV310 fire wire driver

FOR USB:
Download Driver
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-matrix.pl?upd_id=1452

Install then download and install a video program like movavi videosuite or ulead videostudio (i personally recommend movavi).

Plug in the camcorder and switch it on, put it on play/edit and play the video, press record or capture in the software and let it record!

once the video scene in the camera is done, stop the recording and do what you wish!

GOOD LUCK!
