Lexmark all in one centre will not install in vista

Okay first you need to go here and select your printer and Vista as the operating system. Then download the software for your printer for Vista then install it. The printer will work in vista because Vista has built in drivers for the printer, but not the scanner and the old version of lexmark's software won't work in Vista.

Go here and type in your printer in the search box. Click on Vista, then download the file and run it. This will install the vista drivers for your printer.

I had Lemark 4300 Imaging studio installed on my old Windows XP laptop. I have tried to install on my new Acer Aspire 8730G Windows Vista laptop without success. I have downloaded driver updates but still not successful, solution welcomed.

hi guys, i have had the same problem, i have a p4350 all in one printer and when i updated to Vista i couldnt get my install cd to work...i downloaded the install file from lexmark website...cjr4300eng.exe and all worked except OCR and FAX...i emialed lexmark and they couldnt help.....but i tricked my computer and now everything works just fine.....this what you have to do......
Step 1 - uninstall all previous lexmark software
Step 2 - download the cjr4300eng.exe file from
http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:479:0:0&searchLang=en&os_group=Windows%20Vista&target=
Step 3 - extract the file to c:\drivers\printer\4300 but do install the software, just cancel
Step 4 - once you've extracted, copy the OCR and FAX folders from the original INSTALL CD to the same directory c:\drivers\printer\4300 along with all files from the ROOT directory (autorun.inf, cdicon.ico, hidclass.sys etc) on the CD EXCEPT "setup.exe"
Step 5 - open setup.exe and wait for install, it should notify you twice of installation so be patient.....and WOLA you're done

well...remove the printer entirely from the control panel, then get fresh drivers here, then start all over again.

If you run Vista OS, the printer will print but Lexmark All-In-One centre will not work.

Lexmark appologized for the inconvenience and promised to solve that issue during February.

Lexmark all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie lexmark 4300) then click import.
4. "New scan" window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista tool.
