There isn't any obvious reason as to why it won't turn on , the standby light comes on , it won't recognize remotes either even w/ the correct code. How can i fix this problem ?

Do you mean that the standby LED does not light up; but the set works fine? Of so, either the standby LED is damaged, or it do not get voltage [due to loose soldering or some other reason]. Anyway, the set works fine. Isn't it. It means that there is no other fault than this. Contact any service technician in this case; to find out the reason. Electro help

A lot depends on what the brand and model number are here, the set is coming from standby to on and then back off, different reasons for different brands and models.
seems like a power supply problem inside the tv and when the transformer gets warm it is giving you problems you might have to get a tech seviceman to come out and have a look at it as it is not a job you should do yourself when it comes to replacing the power supply hope all goes well
We need more information, does the standby light come on?? have you checked the obvious fuse in the plug ect... Is there any kind of noise from the tv, do you have a model number?
