Hotpoint topload washing machine won't water won't stop running.
My washing machine's water won't stop running when in heavy soil load, will stop on its own in normal and light, but starts again and won't stop when in spin cycle. Also, can't figure out how to pop the top to try to find out what the problem is. Don't know what model it is, only that the control panel is all black except the knobs.
Ok....I found out a few things about the washer...It's a Hotpoint VBXR1060T4WB 6 cycle topload washing machine. The washer cycles like normal until it gets to the second rinse cycle. The water won't stop running and eventually overflows(Had an inch of water on the floor of my house) Other than the water, it cycles normally. I don't know if the switch is bad or stuck or whatever, or if the tube is clogged. I don't know how to check to see if the tube is clogged...I also figured out how to pop it open. Do I need to trace the hose all the way to wherever the other end is and see if there's anything stuck in it? Also, there seems to be a sucking sound coming from the hose.Could just be the water lines though since they run right under it.

read your operators manual
the machine is not designed to put all of your clothes in at once to start with and second the water level for a full load is high not normal
the normal refers to a normal mix of clothes and not water level
special wash is for delicates ( undies , silk etc ) or heavy wash is for heavy soiled clothes --coveralls , jeans , heavy jackets
Do you mean a Hotpoint Aquarius WDL 540 washer? The wash cycle timing is available in the manual on page 8 of the manual (see link below). A normal-sized cottons wash at 40 degrees C takes about 150 minutes (2 1/5 hours) if you have good water pressure and do not use too much detergent. The coloreds cycle is shorter (just under 90 minutes). The indicator lights on the very right hand side (in a downward slash pattern) give the cycle status information. The top light is wash, and the next one down is rinse. The rest are Spin, Dry and End of Cycle. See page 7 of the manual. The function buttons, below the wash temperature and drying time/humidity selection knobs, are from left to right: Super Wash, Extra Rinse, Mini Load, Slow Spin. These are given on page 9. The dryer dial gives you the choice of selecting a dry time from 40-180 minutes or by humidity. The humidity options are Iron (leaves clothes slightly damp), Hanger (ready to put away) and Cupboard (to dry heavy items like towels to a very dry stage). Note the dryer can't manage as large a load as the washer function does. You may need to split the load after doing the wash.
Usually the smell is caused by bacteria from the soiled water when washing is done on a cool wash. I have told customers before that to clear the smell you need to do several hot washes maybe using your white so as not to fade or run colours and in time the bacteria will clear and smell will also.
Thanks for using FixYa. Error NF means No Fill. The washer has tried to fill but was unsuccessful. NF indicates No Flow. There is something that is interrupting the inbound flow of water to the washer, either hot or cold. Sometimes this happens when water service in the area is interrupted, creating an air pocket that causing the water valve not to sense water. Try running the diagnostic test by:
Press the delicates and heavy soil keys together for 3 seconds.
You are in the service mode.
Now, press wrinkle free key, cold water should start entering.
Then, press the cotton sturdy and hot water should flow.
To exit the test mode, either unplug the machine or press the delicate and heavy soil again for 3 seconds.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance. Thanks Rylee

Most machines have a soil level selection (light / normal / heavy) and if you select light soil level the wash time is reduced. Also, some machines have a " Quick Cycle " which cuts a lot of time off, which should only be used with lightly soiled clothing. Additionally, make sure you have adequate water pressure, and that the inlet screens are clear so that the cycle is not delayed essesivly due to slow water fill. Regardless of all these, the higher spin speeds of a front loading machine (those have the longest wash times, due to the low water use and the tumbling wash action used vs an agitator in a top load machine) will result in reduced dryer run time, thus helping to reduce the overall time a load takes to wash and dry. (although still longer than most top loading sets) Generally, the energy savings and larger load sizes will outweigh the extra time the machines take.

are you asking or stating a problem you have? If you're asking, then no it doesn't...Its only the cold water though...the hot water stops like normal.
