Burner pot needs to be removed from heater, for hearers of this vintage, Best advice is to have the burner pot and heater serviced and replace ignition element at same time, I can do this, live in Adelaide. Probably cost $250 inc parts, test run, calibrate.

DeLonghi Space Heater does not Heat

Space heaters are becoming more common as people are trying to get their energy costs under control. To try and save money on heating, many people are turning down the heat for their central heating systems and then heating just the area that they are in with a small electric space heater.

While these electric space heaters are relatively inexpensive, there are many people who want to repair their space heater if it stops heating.

If you have an oil filled type space heater and it is leaking or you are thinking of refilling it then check out this tip.

Oil Filled Radiator Heater Leaking

If you have an electric hot air space heater, and it is not working, then there are only a few things that can go wrong. The only parts that can fail are the switch(s) for the heating, the thermostat, and the heating element. Of these parts, the switches, and the thermostats are replaceable, but the heating elements usually are not. Finding the replacement parts can also be difficult. Here is one website that carries many of the parts for these heaters.

To find out which part exactly is the part causing your problem, you will need to follow the power through the switch(s) and the thermostat to the heating element(s) and find out where and if the power is being interrupted before getting to the heating element. If the element is getting power then everything else is working and the element is bad. If there is no power there then go backwards till you find power and replace that part.

Always remember to mark any wires that you remove very well before removing them. There are many people looking for wiring diagrams because they have not remembered where they removed the wires from.

Also make sure to remove power, (unplug the cord) before removing any electrical components from the heater. Also when checking for power with the power on, you must be very careful to avoid a shocking experience that could result in death. Make sure all parts are away from metal parts of the heaters also to avoid shorting the part to the heater and blowing a breaker or ruining the heater.

In many cases, the time, energy and the cost of parts and shipping are not worth the cost of the heater that you are trying to fix. Make sure to check all of that out before trying to make repairs.
We have an old Vulcan oil heater tank. The measuring stick is showing about one eighth full.

You need to know the tank's capacity to figure out how much oil is still in your Vulcan oil heater. The tank's capacity is typically shown on the manufacturer's label, or it can be discovered by getting in touch with the manufacturer or a qualified expert.
Using the measuring stick, you may make an educated guess as to how much oil is still in the tank once you are aware of its capacity. You can calculate that the tank is around one sixteenth full if the stick indicates that it is one eighth full and the tank is halfway between the bottom of the stick and the one quarter mark.
To prevent sudden oil runs out, it's crucial to periodically monitor the oil level in your tank. To make sure that you always have a sufficient supply of oil for your heating needs, you might also want to think about setting up automated oil delivery or scheduling regular oil deliveries.

Mum's Vulcan oil heater was serviced.Filter changed. Always hasn't burned all the way to the ends it's standard 1 control knob. Is there a oil/air mix adjustment. Can't find online manual anywhere.

Probably needs burner pot cleaned out, common thing to do.
Its a 40 series oil heater, only had single knob, air adjust is automatically set by internal controls.
where abouts are you.
I have some parts and manuals still

Vulcan ducted heating

Do a continuity test on the heating elements, and if they're good then do the same on the sequencers or contactors, whichever you have. The sequencers (or if you have contactors turn on the heating elements). All the fan does is blow air. It blows against the heating element to put out hot air. Either your sequencers/contactor or your heating element is defective.Wait, each sequencers is connected to a fuse.Check the sequencer fuse too. Find the sequencer/contactor wherever the wire feeding the heating element is coming from.

Vulcan Oil Heater not operating correctly

If the red light comes on when starting, this means that there is continuity in both exhaust heating and igniting elements and the heater cutout is also working.
The most common problems with this heater is coke & soot build up in the bottom oiltray and clogging the bottom air intake holes, to remove this the heater box has to be dismantled.
