While there are many ways to prevent Brother printer error code "41

Hi there

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.
My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.
If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

The head drive voltage has not been turned from Low to High within the specified time.

Print head unit
Power supply PCB

error 41 means the printhead is damaged. There is a 2.5 year warranty extension for error 41 issues

Error 41 means the printhead had to be replaced. We usually charge $50-65 for the part and $25 to put it in.

This is a normally a printhead error. You can try cleaning it, or replacing it. I went down that route with an Epson . . .It turned out to be more of a hassle, and did not solve the root problem. If still under warranty I would call the manufacturer (Brother). If it's out of warranty, and you can not change the printhead, I would replace it.

you cant clear error 41. It means that the printhead is rotten.

Do call brother hotline and ask for free replacement. They have changed the warranty because this is a faulty design by brother!

The printhead is defective. Call brother hotline. Because this is a very common error (due to malconstruction on the mfc 3820 ) they might replace it for free. And when asked: OF COURSE YOU HAD ALWAYS RUN THE UNIT BY ORIGINAL INK CARTRIDGES!!!! :-) (take the ink carts out before sending or giving it to a service dealer!)
