I have a Samsung HLT6176s and the lamp went out. I bought a new one, then 2 days later the screen faded to black then cycled off and on with no picture. I left it alone for a few minutes then i it turned back on and it sounded like the lamp was making a high pitch noise. I'm sketchy about turning it back on. What's wrong now?

Remove the lamp especially if you heard a high pitched whine/fan like sound or even a grinding noise.

Look where the lamp faces and examine the color wheel (common failure part in these sets) to see if pieces are broken and missing or the wheel is shattered.

If so it can be a do it your self repair as You Tube has video instructions for replacing the wheel in these sets.

SOURCE: Samsung DLP HLR5668W has mostly dark picture + grinding noise

Pix looks like a light pipe issue, inside the Light Engine. as far as the shutting down, could be a bad fan causing the grinding and when stopps the DMD turns the set off.

SOURCE: Phillips 54 inch rear projection,no picture.

One thing that comes to mind when you say high pitched sound is the HOT ( Horizontal Output Transistor). You may be able to find one at fry's electronics. They are pretty cheap. If you are handy and know something about electronics you may be able to replace it. I am not a TV tech, I have a background in electronics and like to play with them from time to time. Not sure this will help but good luck

SOURCE: TV Picture Goes Black

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

I have a Samsung HLT6176SX/XAA. Can anyone tell me what a blinking green and blinking red light mean? Sounds like it is trying to power on but no picture comes up.

Hello. I had the same problem your having. You need to replace the lamp. I bought a replacement lamp on ebay for $99.00 (Lamp code: BP96-01795A (P132W). They don't last long though. After 4 months I have hundreds of white spots on my screen.

Turns off/on, off/on, off/on.

Replaced the lamp, the lamp code (Part Number) is on an orange tag on the side of your TV.

Samsung DLP turns on and off - cycle repeats

make sure put the lamp door back before trying to turn it on because they have switches on them that allow the tv to turn on. If that is ok you probably have a bad ballast.
Call a local tv repair shop to further diagnose the problem.

Samsung Blackjack II Screen Stays Black

I have a solution. Call at&t. they will send you a new one. I have had my phone for 5 months and it happened to me also. There's a warranty on the phone itself that covers it from the day "you" started using it. I bought mine from a friend. Cool!! It should be here in 5 days free shipping.

Black screen with a Blinking lamp in the front

Hi..if your lamp is on but no picture, then your lamp is good. Your problem is the DMD board (digital mirror display board) is bad. This is very common with Samsung DLP.
