After many attempts and scrounging the interwebs, I have yet to find a solution for my problem. Currently running Windows Vista 64-bit on my Aspire 5735. Have been attempting to install Skype vs 5.9 to no avail. I'm not able to even properly install the set-up exe without it failing, much less installing the actual program. Any suggestions/solutions?

The only suggestion I can offer is install an earlier version of Skype to see if that will make the difference, also! go online to Acer and contact customer support and the technical department to see if they can shed some light on the problem.

Hey,
It is all because the Microphone is not set as a default device to start recording.
Its like your computer has no device for recording even if the computer has connected with Mic.
Just change the settings and enjoy..!!!
