Onmly Compaq will have the approprive driver download. You are correct to assume a Vista compatability issue- this is becoming more evirdent with many peripherals. By the bye- the printer is of course a rebadged Lexmark or HP or Brother [ can be either] see if you can see which and check the appropriate web site. Im not sure if you can find any driver of that product that is compatible with windows 7.

Cause according to this page, that printer is only compatible with operating system like WIN98, WIN.ME, WIN. 2000 and WIN XP. If you want to know what im talking about. Click the link below.


In that page. Browse down and you will see four kinds of drivers for that product and if you will read the description of the drivers. they are only compatible on the operating systems i mentioned above.

So if you really want to use that printer. I suggest you change your OS to Windows XP which is one the compatible OS for that printer. and if you will need the driver just go to link above and download it.

Go to the your nearest Hp Service Center, this is best for the beware to duplicate cartridge.

Go to the HP website (I believe HP bought Compaq). Under support, go to downloads or drivers. Do a search on your model. You should be able to d/l the driver for the printer.

it does,i find out what version of windows your using start/Control Panel\System and Security\System

see if its a 32 bit or a 64 bit system,go to compaqs website,go to support
and search for your printers name

then go get drivers

select your windows version and install it

restart with your printer plugged in and off you go

o.k. here are some things to look for:

First, power off your machine unplug wait a minute. plug it back in and power on.

run a test.....

If same problem persists, gain access to your print cartridges by opening lid.

remove print cartridges and with a lightly dampened towel or cloth clean the print heads. you will see some ink left on the cartridge this is your print head.

Next, place cartridges correctly back in place.

Your printer should now prompt you to run a print alignment configuration.

Go through these steps and do a test print again, Hopefully this will fix the problem.

If it does not. Write back and I will next tell you what to do..
