Printer usb problem

I have a HP photosmart 8250. I updated to service pack 2 and when I rebooted all heck broke loose. When I rebooted and it went to the desktop everything locked up. The only thing that worked was the mouse. I went into safe mode and when I went into it a pop kept coming up saying error in trying to install my printer (I never wanted to install a printer) I did a update install of xp (press f12) then load off disc and re install without losing your desktop. Everything works now but my computer wont recognize my printer. It says "USB device found" when it should say my printer name. It installs then says invalid data. I tried it on my laptop and it recognized it. I reloaded the driver and software. Called Dell and they tried some stuff. CAN ANYONE HELP? Is there something in registration that I can change? HELP HELP! Shawn

Try running http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&softwareitem=mp-49128-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN This removes all the old software for the printer so you can start fresh.

My printer will not print...it's saying it's not installed but showing that it is...has worked fine for a year or so but now won't print...I have unistalled and reinstalled the software but it's still the...

Go to Control Pannel and Add remove Programs
and
Uninstall the HP Photosmart 8250 Inkjet Printer Drivers
or
Click start - control pannel - System - Hardware - Device manager - Select the Printer (+) and uninstall the Drivers

then Check by connecting the USB Cable to the Computer without installing the drivers

IF its NOT SHOWING " Found New Hardware Message " - then Please make sure the Printer is on / check replacing the USB Cable - the install the Drivers

If it should show the Found New Hardware Message - then we can deside to install the drivers for the Product

Then download the Updated drivers from HP Photosmart 8250

if above link don't work then

Ink failure system error

1. Turn the printer off for few minutes then turn it back on
2. Clean ink cartridge
3. Update drivers
4. If nothing works, repace the battery

Photosmart 8250 won't print, says computer is off-line

Make sure printer is connected to computer.
Go to Start ,Control Panel ,Printers and make sure it does not say offline.
If it does right click it and select the option online.
If it does not then remove it and reboot the system.

Printing from Elements 6 w/ HP 8250, image pushed to left.

I wish I did have a solution. Photoshop Elements 7 exhibits the same problem. They obviously broke something. I have to use an old version of Photoshop Elements 4 just to print properly. I am a tech support professional, uninstalled all HP software, re-installed latest drivers and problem persists. Sucks.

Error reading SDHC flash card in a HP Photosmart 8250 printer.

Purchase a SDHC to USB media converter (e.g. SanDisk
M/N SDDR-113-A10M), which allows you to plug that SDHC
memory card into the printer via the USB port.

Search your computer for the USB inf file usbstor.inf. Is this the first USB device you have ever used? What is the operating system on your computer? It appears as though it is searching for the Microsoft Service Pack 3 for XP, and can't find the file within the service pack, or the service pack. Have you recently installed MS updates?

Slow start

Go out to hp.com support - downloads and check what they have for your 8250, there will probably be one to correct your problem, I use hp exclusively and have updated all my software and drivers recently.
