Magellan Roadmate760 Hello. I have a problem with my GPS maintaining a signal. i was told by their tech support (in India) that i should try an external antena, but why would it all-of-the-sudden stop working? is it necessary to send the unit to Texas to be looked at or is there someplace in central/eastern MA that might be able to solve this problem? Thank you for your time. Ed

the same problem occured with my 760-I shipped it back with a pre-payment of $140 to have it returned with the same problem-many phone calls later-with poor communication due to their poor  english- I just received a miestro 4010 unit-  I paid $ 1013 for my 760--the  4010 is listed in the  300 range-- I will never  buy a magellan product again--garmin is the unti to purchase!!!!

I don't have a solution, but do have the same problem on my 760. If I were to send it to you, what is your billing rate?

Ed... Does the gps receive the signal? When you view the menu under options/configuration/diagnostics/GPS Status... how many channels are receiving SNR? At your own risk of course... You could take your unit apart and ensure that the RF cable is still plugged into the main board and the I/O Board... umm.. make sure the gold sheildings where your antenna attaches aren't bent in/out/missing.. listen for peices floating around in your unit... always a bad sign. Good Luck Ed.. and sending it here to Tx isn't THAT bad of an idea.. if the repair's worth it. We treat the units nice.. I promise. :) -Dan

Magellan Roadmate 1412 won't track satellites

It might mean that the signal is disrupted. Might be a software glitch. Try going outside, get a clear view of the sky. Then reboot/reset the unit. Hold the switch to the reset position or off position for 10 seconds, it will shut off. then switch it back on. It should reacquire a signal within 2-5 minutes, then it will fix on your position. If that doesn't work, try updating your software. Call Magellan Tech Support for instructions.

Roadmate is stuck at a location that we have long left. Signal is strong . Tried turning off For a while, tried changing destination but gps is not reading our movement. Help We are in the middle of...

Try a hard reset which involves finding a small pinhole on the back a pressing it with a paper clip for approximately ten seconds. It may be labeled reset but only a very thin item can press this button. If that doesn't work then you may need to call the magellan help service 1 800 707 9971

I need India maps to load in my Magellan roadmate.

Hi,
Magellan withdrew from European PND market, but have partnered with Mio (http://eu.mio.com) to offer a trade in towards a new Mio device.
Give them a call and see what they have available ;)

Maestro 3250 will not boot past magellan screen.

When I talked with Magellan tech support they told me the GPS would not be recognized until the unit was sent in to be repaired. The screen was frozen on the start up screen. When asked how much it would cost, they said they had a customer loyalty program and would sell me a new GPS or a refurbished one if I sent in my old one. They could not just repair mine. The cost was more than a new unit on e-bay. No more Magellan products for me.

Magellan RoadMate 2000

Your best bet is to contact Magellan directly. Their website is not the easiest place I've ever navigated. I did not see a specific listing for the Roadmate 2000, but when I queried them about upgrades for your unit, the response was Roadmate 2000/2200T. Manuals are available, but again nothing was noted about supporting the 2000.
I've provided their phone # is below. Good luck.

Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS problem with map update v6

If you get that address I would love to have it too. I am having a problem with a GPS that I just spend 135.00 to have fixed and now the same problem is occurring. I called, twice today after almost and hour on hold the second time, I went through two people and then was told that the customer service area was too full and I need to hang up and call again tomorrow. I could only understand about half of what he was saying, (heavy india accent) and he was just asking me questions to waste time. He had no solution, and was totally useless.

Magellan 700 GPS wont find sattlites

I just got off the phone with India (Tech Service). I sent my Roadmate 700 for service in October. When it did not come back, I called 4x and had to prove I sent it in with a copy of the tracking number from UPS. It has taken 2 mos to resolve, but they are sending me a Maestro 4250, free shipping for $300.00. Their first offer was for a free 3100. I was told the Roadmate 700 series is discontinued.
