Turn on your 1210 once it boots to the magellan screen press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, once it shuts off, power it back on by pressing and holding the power button for up to ten seconds then let it load.

if that fails, power it up and try the reset button, (either on the bottom or on the side)the little pinhole, and use a paper clip to depress the reset

It might be a software problem or a glitch during the bootup. Try rebooting/resetting the unit by switching off the unit and holding the switch while the gps is off. then switch it back on. If that doesn't work, try using the reset (pinhole).
The software might be also be corrupted, if that's the case, try loading a software update, it's free. you need a USB cable a windows computer and a stable internet connection. You need to charge the GPS too. IF you need assistance in how to do the software update, try calling magellan tech support, they'll walk you through. BTW, I am a Magellan Tech Support Agent

Shouldn't a Magellan Tech Support Agent know that you need the unit to boot fully in order to connect to your computer and update?

Jossie, The cable that connects your hard drive to your main board could be loose. If it's not loose, then it's your hard drive. The only thing you can do (if it's not the cable) is send it in for a new hard drive. Unsure what the costs will be but the magellan logo screen is produced from memory on the main board while anything after that is when the hard drive takes over. -Daniel

SOURCE: Glass front broken on Magellan GPS unit. This

Hello. My recommendation is for you to call Magellan directly, get an estimate and then if you choose to, send it in for repair. You may ask a technical support question or request a repair and get a Return Authorization (RA) number by phone. An RA number is required prior to shipping your product to Magellan for repair. Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST/PDT
Telephone: 800 707 9971 Please rate my answer as very helpful. Thanks, Joe

This is normal, this come straight of the satellite. To speed up process or bypass, reboot system. To Manually reboot this model, turn unit off like normal. Then when turning on, keep button down as it fires up, DO NOT release on button, keep it down until all fires up and even about 10 seconds passed, then let go. This reboots it and cleans up a lot of ****. Thanks Mike. Please if this helps, please give me 4 thumbs up, to help me and others. if that dont work, turn it off again fully charge it then reboot it manually again. This should do it!

Blue screen with magellan logo , this is what I see after turn on my gps receiver, I tryed to push any button but anything change on the screen, to shut it off i have to use 'enter' ,'cancel' and power...

This is the boot screen, Remove the power connection, and reinsert while you press the "Cancel" button at the same time, if done correctly, your Roadmate should continue to boot and enter the user mode.

No a practical solution, but at least you will get your device repair, after being on hold for 40 minutes I spoke to a very nice rep, unfortunately evethough she didn't admit it, it seems a software problem with the new 2008/2009 map update, in other words no way to fix it, you need to send it for repair, make sure you tell them to update the device with the new 2008/2009 Maps, if not you will have the same problem later on, Good Luck
