check all connections and different sources(dvd, vcr, antenna) to make sure that it is the tv. otherwise i would say call a technician because you could be in for some extensive troubleshooting

The same thing happened to my HLP5063W. Researching the internet forums I concluded the problem was with the color wheel, which I replaced. As it turns out the old one was completely smashed. Go to www.jangro.com for replacement instructions.

RCA TV lost Color

It sounds like your grandson found the "monochrome" setting in the menu on your remote. It may be in the "picture settings", "set-up" or "advanced" setting.

I had accidentally hit the text button and turned it on while trying to adjust the color. I turned it off with the remote and the problem went away.

Camera fades to black and white. Color comes back when you hit the camera.

Projection LCD flickers to black and white

If the S-video cable is not completely in it will do this. You need to remove and clean tips on S-video cable/ replace, this is your problem.

Black and white picture on the JVC TH-505

If you hold the VFP button while a movie is on, you will get a small box on the corner that shows your color. My default color also turned black and white. I just moved over to a user1 color setting (push the right arrow on your remote), and it allows to the change the colors. You might be able to put the colors to come out through here. Hope this helps.
