JVC HR-DVS2 Mini DV/S-VHS VCR Logo
Posted on Nov 03, 2008

Jvc hr-dvs2 Goodmorning, I have the above combo machine which i brought second hand. It has no instruction manual. After connecting the firewire to the machine and opening the Adobe editing software the tape plays but it does not desplay on screen (black screen). When you capture using the mini DV the picture desplays on screen. The VHS side was working but I think I accidently changed the setting for the vhs via the remote control. Can you help?

SO you actually got the S/VHS to capture via firewire into your computer? I can only get the DV side to work. I have the same unit with manual. I think your initial problem is a refresh rate, are you using Premiere? and can you make the viewing window smaller?

How to program JVC vcr/dvd/tv remote 076D0FB010 for taping future tv shows. I can only tape shows live on my JVC HR-XVC1U machine.

It sounds like the remote you have, the JVC 076D0FB010, does not have the capability to program future recordings on your JVC HR-XVC1U or HR-XVC27U machines. This feature is typically called "timer recording" or "scheduled recording," and it is controlled by the VCR's built-in programming features, rather than by the remote.
You may want to check the user manual for your JVC HR-XVC1U and HR-XVC27U machines to see if there is a way to set timer recordings using the VCR's own controls. If the manual does not provide instructions for timer recording, it is likely that this feature is not available on your VCRs.
Alternatively, you can consider purchasing a universal remote that has the ability to program future recordings. Some popular universal remotes include the Logitech Harmony and the Philips Universal Remote Control.

DVD region hack available?

If you suffer from region code troubles, you can download a region free DVD player software tool on your pc and then you can play discs of any regions you want. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free Blu-ray player and a region free player.

I lost my manual i would like to know how would i record from vhs to dvd on my device on my jvc combo modle # hr-xvc25u

The HR-XVC25U is a DVD player and VCR recorder. Unfortunately, you can only copy a non-copy protected disc to VHS with the unit.

JVC has the manual for the hr-xvc25u on their product page: http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027079&pathId=10&page=1&archive=true . The direct link to the manual is: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/96/82970ien.pdf .

I wish that I had better news for you.

I need a JVC HR-DVS2 Mini DV/S-VHS VCR manual. Is it on line somewhere?

You can download a pdf version of your manual by clicking on the following link:

http://www.caup.washington.edu/Resources/Computing/Manuals/JVC-HR-DVS2U.pdf

The file is in the pdf format. If you don't already have the Adobe Free Reader you can download it from this website:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Just click on the orange box that has the word DOWNLOAD in it. If you save the file to your Desktop all you have to do is double-click the icon that it creates and the reader will install itself. You can then double-click the file for your manual and it will automatically load the reader and display itself in the reader.

Can't get my new DVD/VCR to work.

I read the instruction manual one more time. It said to tune my TV to Video and voila, the VCR worked. All JVC VCR's seem to need the tv tuned to Video to play back. I had an older JVC VCR and I had to do the same thing with it.
Thanks anyway.

Either the camera or the vcr is dirty. Try running a cleaning cassette through both, but bare in mind that tapes which were recorded while the camera was dirty will ALWAYS look like that. Forever.

It's purely t prevent small fingers doing bad things to expensive electrical equipment. =)

If you cannot locate the info in the manual, post back and I will hnt the relevant info for you.

Playback Problems using Firewire port

Is the power from both units being supplied from the wall outlet? If so, it is possible to accidently create what is known as a "ground loop" condition. The easiest way to induce this unwanted condition is to connect one unit to an outlet on one wall, and then connect the other unit to a whole different outlet. Always connect units to the same mains connection to help prevent this...Accordianman
