I have a Daewoo DV-T8DN that just stopped playing the video on the tapes in the middle of playing a movie. The sound seems to play just fine, but no picture. I have adjusted the tracking, but that didn't help. I have tried other tapes with the same result. I have also tried a different connection, but did not get better. Please help if you can. Thank you
Maybe the video heads have become clogged. Try using a commercial head cleaning tape to solve the problem.
I would recommend the one that uses the fluid.

It's an screen display for the Hi-Fi sound playing. However it should only come on when first starting. If it keeps popping up during playback it means that the Hi-Fi sound is dropping out then coming back on. This is often caused by poor tracking or the result of dirt on the video head. Clean the head and see if that solves the problem. If you are doing a lot of tapes keep cleaning it. Few video's have the option to remove on-screen displays. However if they do it will be on the menu somewhere.
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
Stop the tape.
Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
Play the tape.
If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
Play the tape.
If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
That's dirty video head! Try to playback new tape for five minutes, do it for 2 to 3 times, this will serve as your videohead cleaner. eject then reinsert then playback, eject again for at least 3 to five times. most camera has a built in videohead cleaner that activates during eject, initial play and reinsert mode. you can even try to play the whole blank tape! thats 1 to 2 hours of playback! If the problem is still there after doing those things, you need pro fix then.
try recording on a blank tape and setting the tape speed to SP (standard play). you should also see options for (LP-long play) and SLP (super long play). I think your machine is stuck on SLP option. if no-go, look for a manual on the web.
This still didn't work. Any other suggestions?
