How to switch from sp to lp mode when playing back?

I recorded MINI DV on my old camcorder (JVC GR D20E) and now I want to play them in my new camcorder (JVC GR D250 UA) but it won't work. What I notice is that the tape plays in a much faster mode and I can't seem to slow it down. The new camcorder seems to be set standard in LP mode (when recording and playing back) Is there any way for me to fix it?
Can I perhaps load the old tapes to the computer and then play it back in a different setting? Can I use the new camcorder to load it although it is in a faster setting?
Thank you
Nicole

Yes, I tried it already and it did not work

I dont think it has a playback autodetect speed setting.
Or if it does I can't find it.
The option for sp/lp playback does not seem to help in either setting.

Check setting on MENU on NEW camcorder.see if you have a playback autodetect speed setting.Im assuming you dont have OLD camcorder anymore..If you still do you can playback on OLD one and use audio video out and input it into new CAM to record on new tape if new one has an input feature.Or input it into a vcr and record on new tape.

I recorded a video using sony hd100n in dv format, when i capture it using jvc minidv camcorder(jvc GR-DVL820u) the the capturing is not good specialy the audio.what is the posible solution?

May be you recorded it on LP, LP recording are sensitive to interchangeability issues or it could beyour JVC's LP heads are weak. If you have an idea on how to adjust pole base, try to adjust supply side on your JVC(left side pole base) while playing and observe the sound while adjusting it. Be careful not to touch parts at the sorroundings, pay a lot of attention while doing this. If you do not have background in this field, let the pro do the job. Good luck

Does this cam, play the mini dv tapes????

If you are referring to the JVC GR-DVL520, yes it does play Mini DV tapes, as well as records to them. It will not play Mini DV tapes that were recorded on an HDV camera. HDV is used by any Mini DV camera that records HD video.

Mode for playback of older 8mm tapes using Sony DCR-TRV730 ?

In 1990s Sony camcorder records movie in analog format so playing in digital camcorder like DCR-TRV730 doesn't mean it will be converted in digital format and you can not import file in PC for editing purpose. You will get analog signal while playing back old cassettes.

Regarding SP, LP speed, its decided at time of recording. Camera sens SP or LP automatically in playback and set itself accordingly.

If you want to convert old cassettes into digital format, connect our camcorder to DVD recorder and burn DVD which is digital format, copy DVD files in to PC and do desired editing.

GR-D72 Mini DV Digital Camcorder makes clicking sound when tape running

the clicking is from the capstain turning the tape -- and perhaps the metal cage holding the tape.. if it is bent then the movement of the capstain may be pushing it in an eccentric fashion.

send it in for repair.

Playing back footage on pc

mini DVs sometimes can't be access using usb interface, try to look if u have a firewire interface, be sure your laptop supports IEEE1394. power dvd is the best player for dvd files. -r means recordable, not rewritable (rw). if ur not familiar with video editing, you may not be able to burn it to disc, but you can play and watch everytime.
