Timer and clock not working on Viking double wall ovens - caused by steam from oven

Used the top oven to roast mushrooms a couple of weeks ago. Steam poured out of the oven and the analog clock display showed moisture under the glass. None of those controls have worked since. Called Viking and after being shunted to 5 different service centers was told to turn off the circuit breaker to reset. Didn't work. I have had the ovens for 14 months - used them no more than 10-12 times (thanksgiving, xmas, bake a birthday cake). Out of warranty and Viking will not honor. I am sad and mad! Any advice? BTW no moisture showing now but obviously no seal or seal broken.

SOURCE: viking oven won't turn on

I had same problem (twice) with my Viking dual fuel range. In my case a relay that supplies power to the oven heating elements failed. The convection fan would run. The elements were warm to the touch. If you have a free standing range, it may be that relay (part number PM010026) which is located in the front of the stove. Remove a long narrow stainless steel panel (1 screw each side) located under where the door hinges. You can hear the relay click when you turn up the oven thermostat. That will help you locate the relay.

Note: Viking does not sell parts. You have to find their parts distributor for your part of the country.

Oven timer won't stop buzzing.

Hi,

Please use tools to unscrew the top portion of the dial from the oven and check if the buzzing stops. If not, then you might need to remove the entire dial/timer from the oven and work with a watch shop to fix the timing function of the removed oven clock. Or you can request the clock specialist makes a home visit in order to fix the oven timer/clock for you instead.

Thank you.

I have a brand new Viking french door oven...Went to set it at 450 on bake setting and got an F02 error code. How do I fix this?

Fault F02 is indicating an overheat fault- service manual says to replace main electronic control board.
Sometimes switching off at wall will clear the fault.
However, switching off at wall will reset the clock- you need to set the time before the oven will work-press middle button until small triangle is next to clock icon, set time using temperature dial. Once clock has ben set, try using oven to see if F02 fault reappears. Good luck!!

Seams to be a lot of steam/ vapour in main oven. when you open door cluds of steam escape. This is the 4000 twinline all electric model.

I have an electric oven and the same problem: loads of steam when I open the door. Plus roasting is a problem, the pan fills up with water and needs to be drained so things are stewing and not roasting. Have spent ages trying to to find a solution so would also appreciate any advice.

How best to cook turkey. What setting?

hi friend,
step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Step 2 Remove turkey from its wrapping and remove neck and giblets from inside the cavity. Set aside to make gravy later (see Related eHows).
  • Step 3 Rinse turkey inside and out with cold water. Pat dry with paper towels.
  • Step 4 Put oven rack on lowest level of oven.
  • Step 5 Place turkey, breast side up, on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  • Step 6roast1s.jpg Rub the outside of the turkey with olive oil.
  • Step 7roast2s.jpg Salt and pepper the turkey's body and cavity.
  • Step 8roast3s.jpg Roast turkey about 3 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh registers 175 to 180 degrees F.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • In general, a turkey should be roasted 10 to 12 minutes per pound if it is not stuffed and 12 to 15 minutes per pound if it is stuffed.
    • In general, you shouldn't cover a roasting turkey (or any roasting meat); you want the skin to get a nice, deep brown all over, and you don't want it to steam in its own juices. However, if the turkey begins to brown too quickly, well before it's likely to be done, you can cover the brown parts loosely with aluminum foil. (This is likely to happen with larger birds.) Try to cover as little of the turkey as possible so you don't create steam.
