Look for screws to take off perimeter flange then look for screws attaching the oven to sidewalls. It may be a bit of a grunt pulling the oven out.

Don't know about your gas oven, but we have a Tappan wall oven (electric) that we want to get rid of. Maybe you could get the door hinges and spring from it? We are in East Tennessee.

great on the info but what is your question

You need to measure the opening in the cabinets and then find an oven close to those specifications. More than likely you will have to do some cabinet work as ovens generally are not the same size.

Built in ovens come in three standard widths, 24, 27 and 30.

Look at the installation guide in the link for a sears for the 24 inch and confirm the width of your opening along with the depth. Make sure the new does not exceed your dimensions..

The problem is usually in the height. There is a lip that extends outside the inside dimensions so the over all width and height need not to extend beyond you cabinet. You can jack up the bottom with spacers to minimize any upper gap.

I understand that your Tappan stove is coming on and off randomly. It sounds like a possible issue with the switches or control panel. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Hello devon, thank you for your post!

I understand that you need the location of a reset button on your Tappan range. Typically, there is not a reset button for your range. A reset can be done by disconnecting power from your appliance for ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
