Check the record switch in the video recorder. The thing that pushes on the tab on the video tape! If bent or broken, your VCR will assume that the blank tape has no tab and thus eject it, as though it was a protected tape!
1. Rejected tapes on a VHS recorder is due to a dry belt that is the transfer belt on ejection tray is worn and needs replacement. 2. Because VHS recorder are now not so prevalent and there are so few repair shops specializing in there repair due to parts acquirement it may be best to get a new recorder. 3. Addressing the belts. The belts usually grips a pulley which in turn turns a gear that moves the ejection tray forwards/backwards when given a certain signal on from the control board. This could also be a worn gear from constant use of the load/ reloading of VHS tapes. I hope this helps.
The sensor switch which pushes against the record tab on the tape is either bent out of shape, or broken. Therefore the video recorder thinks that the tape you put in is a pre-recorded or protected tape, thus ejects it.
Does this happen with other tapes? If so then the micro switch could be stuck in the open position, try to give it a clean with a blast of air duster first then check the contacts on the switch. If it is happening with just this specific tape the the record tab (although in place) may be "soft" try putting a piece of tape tightly across the tab & try to record.
Try Using a new VHS tape. If the new tape ejects when press recording, the recording switch inside your VCR could be defective.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
I had the same problem with my camcorder just awhile ago. This can reflect a low battery. Try plugging in the camcorder for a couple of hours without using it. Then try recording or playing back the tape with it plugged in. Unplug it and check again. If this does not work you may have to replace the tape head.
You can record video with audio onto the Memory Card. Follow the instructions below.
Recording moving pictures onto a MEMORY CARD
1. Insert a Memory Card into the slot on the camcorder.
2. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD position.
3. Set the power switch to CAMERA mode.
4. Press the START/STOP button, the images are recorded on the MEMORY CARD in MPEG4.
* You can record 10 ~ 20 seconds continuously.
* You can record a still image on the Memory Card by pressing the Photo button instead of the START/STOP button.
5. Press the START/STOP button to stop the recording.
Notes:
* Moving images that you recorded are saved in *.asf file format on the Memory Card.
* The moving picture images on a Memory Card are smaller size and lower definition than those on a Tape.
* The sound is recorded in mono.
* The following functions cannot be operated in M.REC Mode. - DIS (Digital Image Stabilizer), Digital Zoom, Fade, Program AE, Digital Special Effect, Slow Shutter.
* Don't insert or eject a tape during Memory card recording as it may record noise.
* Don't eject the Memory Card during recording as it may break the data on the Memory Card or the Memory Card itself.
