Gigabeat model mev30

My daughter pushed the reset button and now i get this message
1. connect the portable media centre to a pc
when i do this i get another message,
2. update or restore portable media centre using pc application. read user manual.
. have tries every thing. and nothing will work. please can someone help

does it have a 4 with a triagle around it? if it does its screwed

http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/firmware/MESV12US.zip

download the file and install it . if ur player is not detected in windows then you need to install windows media player 10 and then attach it .

turn off power from the pin hole next to the reset hole. then turn back on after fourty minutes

Help!!!
So, what happened when you connected the thing to sync with a PC and rightclicked on the tool-tray item for the Gigabeat?  Maybe you got a menu about Upload Portable Media Center?  If not, go into applications and see if the gigabeat stuff doesn't happen to contain the bespoken user manual.  Open it...read it....  Usually there's a little button-sequence to prepare the player and another to restore the Portable Media Center program.  Happy discovering.

Gigabeat has froze completely
Turn off the battery with a toothpick or pencil then turn it back on. You can do this on the bottom side.
