I have a Hayward H400 series pool heater. It was working perfectly, I turned it on one day, the temp came on the screen, I went into the house came back 5 minutes later and the entire unit seems to have no power. No lights on panel, no blowers, no nothing. I replaced the two 1.5afuses just to see and still nothing. At wits end and cant afford another $600 pool bill. If someone has had similar problem please let me know how you fixed it.

SOURCE: Hauward H400 heater won't turn on

check pressure switch operation most heaters will not operate without sufficient water flow/pressure. You can use a multimeter to troubleshoot the wiring using the schematic. If its induced draft milivolt ignition verify there is suffiecient gas flow to the unit

SOURCE: Hayward H400 Pool heater will not stay lit

"IF" - Hayward Pool Heater Fails to Ignite: the most common reason for this problem is insufficient gas supply. The Hayward heater LED display will show a diagnostic fault code of "IF" which stands for Ignition Failure. Undetected gas pressure problems if not investigated properly may result in unnecessary replacement and servicing of your Hayward Pool Heater.

SOURCE: Navigator Pool Cleaner: My Hayward pool cleaner just goes in small circles...

Check all of the following. Ones of these issues is probably causing your pool cleaner to go in circles. Let me know if these soultions don't work and I will be glad to offer more solutions, but I a think one of these might solve your problem:

1. You might not have proper water flow. Too much or too little pressure will cause this to happen. Check the pressure with your flow gauge and adjust if necessary.

2. Check for a partial blockage of the navigator throat. If you have a blockage, it could disrupt the movement of your cleaner. Clear blockage if necessary.

3. Check the shoes and wings. Damage or wear to them can disrupt your patterns of cleaning. If you notice that your shoes or wings are worn, replace them to correct the problem.

4. Check to make sure that your hose is not twisted. It should be clear of kinks, twists, and knots. Untangle if necessary. Laying the hose out in the sun will make it more pliable and easier to untangle if you need to do this.

5. Other things that could cause steering issues: check and clean the rear screen, check to see that the cone gear is is free and rotates smoothly, clean/replace/repair gear box, check pod connection, and check turbine and spindle assembly.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need clarification or additional help!

SOURCE: hayward H400 error code bo

This error means "Bypass Operation". On the back of the control module there are some "dip switches". They have an on or off position. Check switch number 2. Make sure it is in the "off" position. The "on" position is for a remote thermostat.

Allheaters run off of a thermostat just like the heat to your house. It will shut off once heated to the selected temperature. Turn up the temperature, and monitor it for a couple days.

Temp on water boils in heater core

This will be a water flow problem. If you have a heater by-pass it will need to be almost closed (80-90%) If the water has overheated you may need to remove the header going into the heater and replace the internal by-pass assembly.

It is likely the keypad that has gone bad. Not difficult to replace. But you want to be sure thats what it is, as it is an electronic part, that is usually not returnable. The part number would depend on the model of the heater. Likely it is a h400idxl2 heater.
