Our OKI C8000 has recently started having printing quality issues. Very streaky. Thin white vertical lines appearing on all colours. Image drums not showing as spent. I have tried cleaning the heads but no better. I'm happy to replace something but not sure what causes this issue in all colours and don't want to unnecessarily change all the drums. Any suggestions?

This plobrem "Vertical line" is usally error of Canon IRC-4580 printer. For this "Vertical line" error, technicians divided into two smaller error are: Vertical black line and band and Vertical white line.
Description:
- Vertical line and band: On the printed image appear some straight thin black vertical.
- Vertical white line: On the printed image appear some white vertical voids.
Error location:
- Surface of the charge roller
- OPC drum
- Cleaning blade
- LSU unit
- Developing roller

Cause of error "Vertical line" on the printed page:

- May be surface of charge roller scratched or dirty by toner powder.
- May be have some grooves on the OPC drum.
- May be cleaning blade is damaged.
- May be LSU window or LSU lense has dirty.
- May be surface of developing roller has scratched.

How to fix(repair) "Vertical black Line and Band" for {{SPkey1}} machine:

- Replace the charge roller of toner cartridge.
- Replace the OCP drum.
- Replace the cleaning blade
If printed page are not improved
- Clean the LSU unit by soft cotton cloth and try to print. If Vertical line is not clear on the printed page you should replace LSU unit.
- Replace new axis developer and try to print
2. Solve print quality problem "Poor fusing (loose toner)" for Canon IRC-4580 printer. How to fix print quality problem loose toner
Description loose toner: Toner is not properly fixed on paper, use to hand rubbing lightly on the printed image toner powder may be stick in hand
Error location: toner cartridge or fuser unit

Cause of error "Dark Image or black" on the printed page:

When toner cartridge is empty. You toner refilled by toner powder ware not compatible. This is makes toner cartridge components demaged and temperature of fuser unit is not enough melt to toner powder

Cause of error "Uneven Density":

- The pressure force on the left and right springs of the transfer roller is not even.

Cause of error "Light image" on the printed page

- Enabled toner save.
- Toner cartridge is low
- OPC drum may be faulty by strong light intensity
- Temperature in room is below than 10*C
- Bad contact caused by the toner dirty between the high voltage terminal in the HVPS and the one in the set
- Abnormalities output from the HVPS

How to fix(repair) error "Light image" on the printed page for Canon IRC-4580 printer:

- Disable toner save by change in printer driver.
- Toner refill toner cartridge Canon IRC-4580 and reset toner cartridge chip (replace new chip) or replace new genuine toner cartridge.
- Replace the OPC drum.
- Replace developer.
- After printer is power on, wait 30 minutes then start printing
- Clean up the contact between the high voltage terminal in the HVPS and the one in the se- Replace the new HVPS if the problems are not solved by 4 away above.

Description: Ghost occurs intervals of the OPC drum or transfer roller.
Error location: Toner cartridge, Developer, HVPS board

Cause of error "Light image" on the printed page

- OPC drum has fauty.
- The life of the transfer roller has been expired
- The high voltage terminal is contaminated by toner powder or

How to fix(repair) error "Light image" on the printed page for Canon IRC-4580 printer:

- Replace OPC drum
- Replace transfer roller
- If performed 2 away and the error does not clear, you should replace ganuine toner cartridge .
- Replacce HVPS board.

The thin lines are caused by a worn out drum. Remove each drum in turn and look at the surface. It maybe hard to see the scratches and if so then send solid blocks of the primary colours one at a time and that will prove which drum is at fault.

If the streaks are only from the magenta then your magenta drum is bad. If you recently replaced it, it may still be under warranty.

I have the same problem with my OKI c3100, please help

One or more of the drums may be defective. Swap the black with another color and print a document. If that color printed the charectors ok, then continue the test with the other drums each taking a turn in the Black drum position until you find the bad drum.

The way to identifiy your problem is to send a full colour print to your printer and open the top just as the paper starts to come out . if you then remove your toner / drums for all the colours you can see the transfer belt if the quality of the image that you can see on the transfer belt is good and clear your problem is with the transfer form the tranferbelt to the paper and not any toner /drum issue and the most likley cause is the transfer belt itself "but before you relpace it remove it and clean around the electrical contact points and generally make sure the internals of the printer is free of loose toner .

Try cleaning the LED heads. These are located in the lid and are facing you when you have raised the lid. A quick wipe with a dry cloth or tissue should help. If in doubt, check the user manual.

It has been recommended this is a toner/image drum problem. I am to replace the image drum, toner and check the print out.
