I have an ariston washing machine (aw122) that was working fine for about 10 loads. now all it does is fill with water then drain. the programs dial keeps turning and clicking but it doesn't go through any of the cylces. at one point it makes the sound like it is spinning but nothing happens. i have tried the solutions in the manual troubleshooting part (resetting machine, checking drain pipe, cleaning filter) but nothing has worked. any suggestions?

Open the rear panel and look for a broken or worn belt. If this is the problem you can replace it easily. Good luck !

either you have a blocked hose to the pump or the pump itself is either jammed or the impellor has come off the shaft. either way i think you will need to replace the pump. i presume you managed to get the water out? if so i would say the pump is favourite.

CHECK THE PIPE TO THE DRAIN HOSE AND FILTER TRAP IF ONE FITTED IF BLOCKED CAN CAUSE THE SAME THING ESPECALY IF YOU HAVE A NON RETURN VALVE FITTED

According to the instruction book - it appears the machine has been stopped mid cycle then re-started.
Switch machine off, turn control knob to a solid circle symbol (they are after every set cycle). Switch machine back on and lights will flash and program is reset. You can then select wash cycle as normal.
