Ariston A1635 Margherita washing machine. Will not start washing cycle. Control knob keeps clicking around and around

According to the instruction book - it appears the machine has been stopped mid cycle then re-started.
Switch machine off, turn control knob to a solid circle symbol (they are after every set cycle). Switch machine back on and lights will flash and program is reset. You can then select wash cycle as normal.

Could bs a faulty door lock, if this is faulty, then nothing will work, so that is where I would start.

You timer is bad and needs to be replaced. It is located behind the control board

turn the wash temperature dial to zero,
if it starts to wash it could be a faulty thermostat,
if that wont wont work it could need new brushes in the motor

Try Cleaning your filter under the front of the washer it probably has coins and other wonderfull stuff which can cause the clicking issue.

try putting timer dial to the black dot and holding the start button until the red light flashes,then try selecting a new cycle.not sure what country you are in, aristons might be set up different in australia.hope this helps.

Ariston frontloader - dial spinning around and won't start a cycle

Your bearings are almost certainly gone which would explain the noise not an easy job or cheap . Normally it would consist of a tub change or at best a bearing hub . As for the clicking round of the selector Iwould suggest poss the heater or brush fault. As ofr price you'd have to ask your local repair man. Worst case sinario approx £200 .00
