the only thing to do is check that the water censor pipe is not blocked preventing the censor to tell the controller its finished the spin cycle this is a small 5mm pipe leading to wards the top of the machine take it off and blow gently down it you will hear a click and one when you release the air this means the censor is working but the small pipe where it came from is blocked clean the blockage with a pipe cleaner or similar replace the pipe eric

Well it depends on how old your machine is, if eveything else is fine then replace it. The cost will vary depending where you buy your part from. It could cost but worth it if machine is reliable. try

I just did this on a different model - it is a normal (right-hand) thread

This is best done with the machine lying in its front.

1 - If it's a Torx screw (probably a T40), buy a torx bit for a rachet spanner - Halfrauds do them for about a fiver - you may need an adapter as well if your rachet is 1/2 in drive. This is far better than using a bit in a screwdriver handle.

2 - Heat the pulley around the screw (careful use of blowlamp) as it's fitted with thead lock compund and this helps to soften it.

3 - If that doesn't do it, try a cold chisel and hammmer to knock it around - you need to break the thread lock initially. You might need to replace the bolt after this :-) and you need to be careful not to break the alloy pulley.

4 - If after removing the screw the pulleyt doesn't come off, try heat again and wiggle it off rather than a straight pull.

Bear in mind that after removing the pulley spider, getting the old bearings out and the one ones in is also best done with gentle heating and is not a trivial job.

Use blue thread lock compound when reassembling as this will come off easier next time.

Whole job, start to end took me took 3 1/2 hours

unplug it.
open the top lid.
reach down inside and feel a plastic sensor/release behind where the latch is.
towards the left center of that sensor, feel for a metallic manual release (you'll just feel the nub of it).
Push this in and to the side to manually release the door lock.
Call Ariston and complain about this common problem.

Hey, ours was the same. Turns out the dryier element was loose and was causing the knocking sound....couldnt talk over the top of the noise.About 100 to get the ariston guys out to fix it.Was worth it for us....

Hi, Contact the vendor or the manufacturer's Service Centre!!! I assume it is still under some sort of guarantee/warantee? You can nulify any guarantee if you attempt to fix problem before contacting vendor. Good luck, John C
