Question about Ariston Technologies AW129NA 16 Lbs Front Load Washer
My new Ariston AW 129 front-load washing machine suddenly with the second use to wash has a problem: After 4 hours, the door will still not open. I even had it run another cycle. Unfortunately, the door will not open and my laundry [which I need :-( ] is inside the washing machine. I left yesterday four calls with the manufacturer's customer service. Nobody called me back. If someone out there encountered the same problem, PLEASE get in touch with me to let me know how I can fix this problem. With friendly regards, handynovice
Break the door

It is poss that you pressure system has not released, and this can keep the door closed. Unplugging it will not cure this fault. It is also poss that you have a blocked filter or waste. Unfortunatly has you are older people I would call an engineer

Is also possible that the door was forced open during the five minute safety release period, which causes the handle to break, thus preventing the door from opening... I work in several hotels that have Ariston's I change about 15 handles a week because people do not allow the machine to go through the safety release time

These door locks usually work with solenoids (sp) if you unplug the machine

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about how to get your washing machine door opened...

Thank you so very much for trying to help. Unfortunately, this under-the-cabinet Ariston washing machine had been installed by a plumber. We are seniors :-( And I just realize that it is impossible for me to move this washing machine out of the 'just fitting' under-the-cabinet space. The electrical outlet is behind the washing machine.
Tomorrow, Monday, I will try to get someone to help in getting this machine out of the tight space and unplug it. I am sure [!!] that you are correct and then the door will open.
One more question, please: would the machine then 'reset' itself, so that the door will work properly again or is your suggestion/solution only to be able to open the washing machine's door?
Thank you again, Washer Tech, for responding so quickly.

I said, I am a novice, and it shows :-) But I got the idea to turn off the circuit for the appliance in my fuse box and, voila, after a few minutes I was able to open the washing machine door.
Thank you very, very much, Washer Tech. I guess, when I now put my next load of washing stuff into the machine and start another wash, I will soon know if the machine has reset itself!?
Greetings, handynovice
PS. It's so nice to know that your 'HELPERS' work on weekends too!
:-)
Thank you for your help. In the meantime I got to know my new ARISTON washmachine better. The 'trick' to get the door to open was within the program, which said that before the final run, one will have to press start again and then it finishes the wash cycle.
Have not had a problem since I followed those directions.
AND by the way, we are VERY HAPPY with this QUIET running ARISTON Washmachine. Can recommend it highly.
Thanks. Greetings, Christa
I've been everywhere online. Lots of complaints. Ariston seems to include locking mechanisms on all of their appliances.
Unfortunately the model we're usingI (an AML135) is in French, and doesn't appear to have a button that unlocks the door...so my clothes are locked inside and I can't get them out.
I assume it's just part of the program, but it's as annoying as hell.
Is there a simple strategy to get the machine to give me my clothes?
Thanks
