Hello. My IBM WorkPad c3 dropped on the flor from the desk. Now, if I do hard reset, display shows Symbol blinking or even stays quiet. Argentinian Thecnician says that it is possible motherboard problem. Battery is full ok.

Palm Inc., the manufacturer of the IBM WorkPad, has recently informed IBM that a limited number of IBM WorkPad c500 and c505 models may be unable to use the HotSync function if a static electric discharge (ESD) takes place when the WorkPad is placed in the cradle. Palm Inc. has designed a new cradle for this condition. It has the Palm Inc. logo on it, but also works with these WorkPad models. Palm Inc. has a Web site that provides more information on this issue and also contains the Palm Cradle Exchange Program, which allows owners of eligible models to receive a new cradle. To determine if your WorkPad is eligible and to place an order for a replacement cradle, please visit the Palm Inc. Web site. Have you tried a hard/soft reset? any noises indicating it is on?

Hello ! Try the hard reset: 1.Depress and hold down the power button on the top of the WorkPad c3. 2.With an unravelled paper clip, insert the blunt end into the hole labelled Reset on the back of the WorkPad c3. 3. Release the Reset button. 4. Release the power button once the Palm Computing Platform logo appears. 5. You should then see instructions indicating to press the scroll button either up or down to erase all data? . 6. Choose not to erase your data. . If you tried this hard reset and the data was not present, so sorry to tell you that, unless you installed the Workpad C3 software on your computer and backed up your data, your data is lost. Hope this helps.
