Dark screen when unit is turned on screen breifly flashes correctly, then goes black. resets didnt help. did not do hard reset.

That sounds like a hardware problem not software.

this is either a bios or hard drive code needed for unit to proceed extremely hard to reset sue to the fact that the code is in a non volatile chip.

Looks like a charging problem, try this:

1. Connect the reader to the computer and make sure red steady light comes on, if not, then hit the reset button for 3 seconds.
2. Once you get the redlight, leave the reader charging for 15-30 minutes (make sure the computer does not go into sleep mode)
3. After you charge the reader, try the soft reset again and slide the power switch at the top of the unit.

If this does not resolve the problem you may try a hard reset on the reader but this will remove all content.

To hard reset:

1. Hit the reset on the bottom of the reader
2. Slide the power switch
3. Once "Opening Book" comes on the screen, press and hold the directional "down arrow" and the number "0" both at the same time until "Reset All" appears on the screen.
4. The screen will go blank, now its time to turn it on again.

Note: If after trying the hard reset, the reader goes back to the black arrows trying to turn around, then repeat the steps again.

The "color" on your screen reset to dark. You can adjust it by pressing "2nd" and the "up" arrow (or "2nd" and "down" arrow) repeatedly.

first, make sure it is fully charger..let it on a charger at least a few hours, then try the hard reset again (little pin hole on the side near the bottom.

reset your monitor settings with deafaults with menu.u see some buton on lcd or monitor.

first try resetting the phone if it didnt work you have to flash the the phone witha frest software
