Question about IBM WorkPad 8602-30X
Can you suggest what "upgrade" options are available to migrate my data (address book, calendar, etc) and (secondarily) the Workpad Desktop (Ver 3) for IBM Workpad PC Companion application to an Apple MacBook platform ?
and if that's possible, what (new) sw and pda-to-macbook connectors would I need - assuming I can still use my (very old, but still working) IBM Workpad pda (... which is still working well on my old Windows 95 / 98 / 2000 platform laptops)
As a minimum, kindly suggest how I can export the data to (a specific/recommended) Workpad-like application on the Apple MacBook (or into the MacBook's Address Book), and/or the corresponding pda (type/model, etc.) that I would need to get, to satisfy this (basic) need to manage my address book and calendar.
Thanks for your assistance ! Lawrence
This is a general answer to head you in the right direction, I hope. Reply back if you need more detail.
If you are syncing with Windows Palm Desktop software, you can (most likely) export contacts, calendar and memo items to a CSV file.
CSV files are data standards. They're simply text files with a comma-delimiter that designates where fields end. This makes them cross-platform compatible.
Once you export to CSV files, get them on your mac (email them to yourself, put them on a flash drive etc) and then import them into iCal, Address book etc.
