I can't find my WEP Key for the SB5101N Router. I tried the numbers located on the router itself, none of them have worked.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. I need the WEP key to 2WIRE895 PLEASE HELP ME

The default key is located underneath the router itself on a sticker. If that key didn't work, reset the router by holding in the reset button for ~20 seconds until all the lights flash. If you're talking about breaking into someone elses, then try a Google search.

I have been trying to connect my Wii to my Linksys wireless in my home and every time I try, I get the error code of 51330 with a mention of being unable to connect to the internet. What can I do to fix...

A. Do you have the SSID for your Linksys router as just "linksys"? That name is so common that someone nearby might have set up a new router and left it the same name as well... and your Wii is trying to connect to THEIR "linksys" instead of yours. Try changing the name broadcast by your router to something else, then try connecting using that new name.

B. Be sure you are typing in the WEP or WPA passphrase correctly, it is SO easy to mess up one simple letter in the code and nothing will work. I've gotten dozens of service calls for iPods and games where the customer said their code didn't work, but worked for me when I got there. I know, it's frustrating, just be SURE you have the code 100% correct.

Unable to connect to your wireless network

Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings.




Additional information:

  • Using an Actiontec or 2Wire router? The default security key is often found on a sticker located on the router.
  • Security keys are case-sensitive.
  • WEP keys contain numbers 0 through 9, and only letters A through F.


Other suggestions:

  • Did this connection used to work but has suddenly stopped? "Power cycle" your router and modem. To do this, unplug both the modem and the router from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug in the router. Hello, What do I have to do so that not everyonecan use the WLAN, but has to login first.

You have to setup password protection for the router.

To do this, open up your internet browser and type into the navigation bar 192.168.1.254 and hit enter.

If presented with a user authentication (login) screen, try the following:
Default Username - Hawking Wireless Router: admin (lowercase)
Default Password - Hawking Wireless Router : none (none, leave blank)

To add password protection you will have to activate WEP (a standard encryption protocol used in most routers to protect from unauthorised access).

To access the WEP information, run the Setup Wizard and then go to the Wireless region. Hint: While troubleshooting, try a 64-bit (instead of using a 128 bit WEP key or WPA) WEP key first. To avoid WEP Key mismatch (typing errors, etc.), use a simple/short (i.e. a 10 digit Hex Key such as 0123456789, 5555555555, 6666666666, etc.) WEP Key.

Write down your WEP Key so that you don't forget it.

EROR CODE 52031 ON NINTENDO WII

Hi,If you’re using WEP or WPA for your router’s security, log into your router by typing its IP address in your internet browser and make sure your WEP or WPA key entered in the Wii matches the key in the wireless router. The WEP Key can only use characters 0-9 and A-F. If your router allows more than one WEP Key to be entered, make sure the key in slot #1 is the active key. The Wii can only use the key in slot 1.If you entered the correct key, then check to see if MAC filtering is enabled in the “access control, access list, or network filter” section of the wireless router. If MAC filtering is enabled, you will need to enter the Wii’s MAC address into the “allowed” list for MAC addresses.
If none of these were the problem and your connection used to work, try power cycling both the router and modem by unplugging both from the wall. Wait a couple of minutes before plugging the modem back in. Wait another couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug the router back in and wait until the router initializes.
Ensure that your wireless router has the latest firmware installed. You will need to go the router manufacturer’s website to download the firmware.
If Wii Error Code 52031 is still a problem, try changing the broadcast channel of the wireless router to 1 or 11. This can help increase download speed.

Wep key for ps3

you will need to obtain your wep key no matter what...you can get it from whoever your router company is (if it is a linksys then call the linksys support number and obtain the key) in most cases thought the wep key is located on the router itself near the bar code. It will be a long number, When you get it and enter it in to the network settings then it should pick up the signal
