I can't find my WEP Key for the SB5101N Router. I tried the numbers located on the router itself, none of them have worked.

A. Do you have the SSID for your Linksys router as just "linksys"? That name is so common that someone nearby might have set up a new router and left it the same name as well... and your Wii is trying to connect to THEIR "linksys" instead of yours. Try changing the name broadcast by your router to something else, then try connecting using that new name.

B. Be sure you are typing in the WEP or WPA passphrase correctly, it is SO easy to mess up one simple letter in the code and nothing will work. Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings.

• Using an Actiontec or 2Wire router? The default security key is often found on a sticker located on the router.
• Security keys are case-sensitive.

To do this, open up your internet browser and type into the navigation bar 192.168.1.254 and hit enter.

The WEP Key can only use characters 0-9 and A-F. If your router allows more than one WEP Key to be entered, make sure the key in slot #1 is the active key. The Wii can only use the key in slot 1.If you entered the correct key, then check to see if MAC filtering is enabled in the “access control, access list, or network filter” section of the wireless router. you will need to obtain your wep key no matter what...you can get it from whoever your router company is (if it is a linksys then call the linksys support number and obtain the key) in most cases thought the wep key is located on the router itself near the bar code. It will be a long number, When you get it and enter it in to the network settings then it should pick up the signal
