There is a thru bolt on the left side of the slicer if you are facing it to use it, that holds the plate on, unscrew it, its usually red

How to remove pinion gear on a 609 chefs choice

To remove the pinion gear on a Chef'sChoice 609 electric food slicer, follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the slicer and make sure the blade is fully retracted and locked in place.
  2. Remove the food carriage and the blade cover.
  3. Locate the pinion gear, which is the small gear that meshes with the larger gear on the blade. It is attached to the motor shaft.
  4. Use a small wrench or pliers to remove the retaining clip or screw that holds the pinion gear in place.
  5. Gently pull the pinion gear off the motor shaft. It may be tight, so you may need to wiggle it back and forth or use a gear puller to remove it.
  6. Once the pinion gear is removed, you can clean it and inspect it for damage. If it is worn or damaged, you may need to replace it.
  7. To reinstall the pinion gear, simply slide it back onto the motor shaft and secure it with the retaining clip or screw.
  8. Reassemble the slicer and test it to make sure it is working properly.
It is important to note that removing or replacing parts on an electric food slicer can be dangerous and should only be attempted by someone with experience and the proper tools. If you are not comfortable performing these steps, it is recommended that you take your slicer to a certified repair center for service.

Need schematics on magic hostess meat slices model mh7e, I think I'm missing a barring behind the blade gear.

The Magic Hostess slicers are the same as Rival 1101 series slicers. What you probably are missing is a friction reducing washer that mounts between the blade and blade head (housing). I offer reproductions of this part, photo attached; these reproduction washers are a different color but functionally equivalent to original. If interested, contact me at [email protected]

The photo I uploaded doesn't show up for some reason. To see photo of blade washer and usage, see https://flic.kr/s/aHsjuXYKep

Guard

I'm not certain this is the same model I'm thinking of, but I think there may be a knob on the back side (behind the blade) which clamps down on a shaft coming off the blade guard. Loosen the know and the guard should pull straight off. Maybe I'm thinking of a different model slicer, but the photo looks correct.
