Fiber gear on blade hub stripped. deep socket required to remove hub. DON'T CUT YOURSELF!! remove motor, used food safe solvent to clean grease out of housing. Fiber gear held on with snap ring. Replace gear, repack housing, put hub and motor back and start slicing. Routinely check to make sure gear is lubed.
Bearing is froze up, use 1&18th thin walled socket to remove nut to free assembley after removing blade. lift out and inspect fiber gear, if good than unit probally needs replced as repair can be a hassle. whole unit can be purchased at onesharpstore.com. for 199.95 then just drop it in and tighten up the lower shaft holding nut& replace the blade assembley .....JB
I have a Globe 500 Slicer. I am trying to rebuild the Knife Plate hub assembly because the bearings are frozen. Also I was able to get the end off with the lock washer and slide the washers and bearing out but the other bearings are not coming out. Do I have to remove the Bronze gear to get the others out or do they come out towards the knife plate coupling?
