Sounds like a problem with the element. If it's under warranty, take it back, otherwise contact a qualified repair person.

SOURCE: I have a dualit 72402 kettle which is not

I have a similar problem and spoke to Dualit who say that the element is probably blown. As the unit is sealed into the base it is not repairable and should be scrapped. Not really a solution more a way forward

My Dualit kettle won't switch off when boiling. It gets descaled regularly but suddenly has stopped switching off

Check the Bi-Metallic Strip (Thermostat) of kettle. It may require replacement.

Dualit kettle on switch wont stay on

Had the same problem with a 3 yr old 1.5l Dualit model JKT43. The problem was that the little grey presence switch in the bottom of the kettle which engages with the pillar on the base had worn. I put 2 layers of electrical insulation tape around the pillar on the base and problem fixed. However, this is not a good permanent solution.

Breville tea kettle won't turn on

anon.nick-20625 was right.

Opened the bottom of the kettle, not the charging base, using the three odd screws.

Found the white trip switch, which was a white line in the socket which connects the kettle to the charging base. Pressed it with a screwdriver and it came out more. Tested the kettle, works!

Kettle base got water .keeps blowing....how do i solve problem

For the kettle's black 'charging' base:
Unplug this charging base immediately. Let it dry out completely. If you have an air hose, contact cleaner or Electronics Duster (compressed air) to displace the water.

If you're kettle stopped working after its fully dry (wait a day to be safe), make sure it's still unplugged and check the contacts in the base center for corrosion (there's the center ground pin and if you push down on it's spring-loaded ring around the ground pin you'll find two more inner/outer circumferential contacts). If you see corrosion try to clean them with a cotton swab (like Q-Tip) and alcohol and retry.

For the kettle's stainless steel 'pitcher' base:
It's the same as above but you'll need to expose the bottom for best results and to find out where's this water it leaking from.

You'll need to remove the 3 Phillips screws and one safety-screw with a "spanner insert bit" on your driver. If you don't have access to one of those and your kettle leaks when filled then I'd bet it's cheaper to replace than to repair, sorry.

Cannot take dualit plug apart

Remove the small silver Dualit sticker from the pin side of the plug. There is a small screw inside that will undo the plug :)

Doesn't boil even though power to the unit as indicated by the lights

sounds as if you have a lose wire in the base or else you element has failed. Undo the bottom of the kettle and check all wires are connected to the element. If all the wires are connect i would say your element has blown.

Krups kettle leaks at base of pot

Unfortunately it's unfixable. A few recent Philips models do it as well and it's worst in hard water areas. Basically the cause is that a tiny bit of water gets into the bottom seam each time the kettle is used and leaves a residue behind when it dries out. Over time, the residue builds up and forces the seam apart so the leak gets worse.

All you can realistically do is hope that it's still under warranty and demand that Krups replace it, preferably with a different model. If they won't then you may have to exert whichever consumer rights exist in your country, but one way or another you need to stop using your kettle (it's dangerous!) and replace it with another.
