When you changed from Network to USB cable, one or both of two things may have occurred. First check your printers list in the control panel. You may find you have two apparent installations of the device. If so try a test page from each install and record the port settings for the one that responds. Delete the other and re-test. If the machine fails to print on any setting, delete ALL installations for the device and re-install from fresh with the USB cable. You may also need to go into the settings on the device itself and disable any network settings.

If it is a LaserJet printer then the fuser needs replaced

if it is frozen on boot, you need to replace formatter or warm its chip until 280°C for 20-30 seconds.

Based on the history of failure that these units have, likely the formatter has failed. Save yourself time and aggravation and go buy a new one.

ADF is the top part where you place faxes and multiple sheets to copy. Check to make sure that it is sitting completely tight and closed. This is the part that sits above the glass. If it seems closed tight, try to open this top raised part of the printer and then close it again. Uplug the printer and plug it in again.

Are the lights still blinking? because that should indicate you did forget to put something back in the correct way. I would place back the old head. put a few drops of cleaning fluid in the nozzles and gave it a few pages in full colour to print on normal paper. At first nothing will appear, but after just a few pages, some nozzles will give cleaning fluid and a little later you will see colour again. Did the same with an older Canon last weekend and it only took 4 pages and not one nozzle is refusing to work. Be aware, if you did remove the head, you have to put everything back as it was. Because the alignment of the head is very critical. Make sure nothing is in the sensors, that check the end of carriage and so on.

if this is a new cartridge, make sure all tape and other shipping devices are removed. if it is a catridge that has worked before, check to see if maybe something has broken on it. with gloves on and newspapers spread over the floor or desk, check to see if anything looks damaged. watch for toner spilling out as you rotate it. If all seems fine with the cartridge, check for misplaced or broken parts where the cartridge is inserted.

If this is a new cartridge, make sure all the shipping protectors are removed. if it is a cartridge that has worked before, spread some old newspaper on the floor or work surface. remove the cart from the printer and check to see if any part of it looks damaged. as you rotate the cartridge, toner powder may fall out so make sure you stay over the paper. if all seems fine with the cartridge, check the inside of the printer for the same thing, damaged parts. If damage is found, replace the cartridge or get the printer repaired.

Scanner error #, Turn off then on The product has experienced an error in the scanner sub-assembly area. Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the product to initialize. If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the product directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn the product on. If the error persists, contact HP. Or replace the printer. The repair is too expensive.

this unit isn't real fast, if you get the job in under 5 minutes, your unit is working correctly. If you are not getting your jobs at all, or have to restart the unit to make it print, it has a bad formatter board.

This seems to be problem with Printer drivers. You have to uninstall and reinstall the Printer drivers. Either do it from the Printer software disk or Download from the www.hp.com website.

Nothing unusual about paper being hot. The fuser is a heating element of sorts and if you are printing many copies you will notice the paper is hot.

will u check printer's print cartridge is working condition ?? if yes ? open printer door, remove print cartridge from printer. c inside left of printer, 2 earthing steal wire is there.. check both of properly connected or working ? check anyone is not push ? if yes ? pull with scrue driver, reinsert print Cartridge again. turn on printer.. may be u r prob. will solve.
