Hello, This error code is letting you know the Drum unit is not installed or not installed properly.

If we disregard any possible wiring or circuit board problems, try the following.

1) Turn the power off and disconnect power cord.
2) Remove the Developer by opening the top cover, pull down the bypass tray, remove the developer.
3) Remove the Drum by opening the left side door, remove the waste toner box, unlock the drum (low front of drum), remove the drum .

Have a good look at the electrical contacts on the drum unit - bent pins? - faulty connections?

Install the Drum - Install the Developer - Plug the printer back in - Turn the printer on.

If the above does not resolve you problem, there may be an internal hardware problem, either with the drum or circuitry, the printer may need professional servicing.

I wish you the best of luck with your problem, Regards!

Seven black spots are appearing

Hello, The Kyocera FS-4000 have a separate Drum Unit and Developer unit installed.
The Developer delivers the toner to the drum unit, either could cause the issue you are describing. The Fuser in the back is also a possibility, however remote for this discussion. The most likely component failing is the developer unit. The developer is accessed by flipping the top cover and withdrawing the developer out. Look at the developer roller for a smudge or smear, you may be able to smooth out any smudges with a piece of paper, do NOT use your hands or any liquid of any kind. The drum unit slides out the left side of the printer VIA the access panel. The cost of these components can be quite a bit. If you have any spare I would install them one at a time and see if you can determine which is causing the problem.

Hi When I try to print a page I keep getting a

As Kyocera FS-4000DN is a Laser Printer, it does not require cartridge alignment. However, the cartridge should be properly seated.
Vertical lines are usually due to the toner cartridge getting old and wearing out. Most often, this issue can be fixed just by cleaning the green drum of the cartridge. Take the cartriddge out of the printer and you will be able to find the line on the drum. Use a dry, soft lint-free cloth to clean it. It may require cleaning more than once thoughout the circumference of the toner cartridge.Secondly, it could be the PCR roller, which is a black roller just behind the green drum. Also, try clean it if possible.

GoodLuck!
Dont forget to rate the solution if I could have been of any help!

On the Dn you should have a standard paper tray and the multipurpose tray under it. You should try using the MP tray. You may have to go under the menu and tell it to pull the envelopes from there. As well you should use #10's from the standard tray and #6's from the MP tray.

It is possible the pickup rollers or the paper sensor think there is only one envelope available. I would try no more than a couple of envelopes. There was a tray made just for envelopes EF-310 that would hold more than the other trays.

I'm not sure I'm going to be much help here as I can't recall any menu functions that limit the paper amount.
