This problem usually occurs due to moisture absorption by paper sheets. If the printer has been idle for some time, then prior to printing either remove a couple of top sheets (which absorb more moisture) from the sheet holder, or dry the entire lot of sheets by placing under hot air drier or incandescent bulb or room heater.

There should be a rear panel which slides out, where you can also set paper thickness for envelope printing. The fuser (hot!) is inside the drawer, locked by two tabs, and slides upward at a slant (this is for the Eco model, but the 4000DN should be similar).

Had the same problem, but printer on server showed on line.
Simple solution for us was to delete the printer on the workstation and add it again. After this, printer showed online again on our workstations.

There is a huge problem with the charge rollers in the drum units, but they can't be bought seperatelly. You should have a 3 year warranty on the drum unit.

Try to clean the paper detector sensor and ensure that theactuator is not broken.

If you are still having a problem with you FS 4000 printer I would suggest a firmware upgrade.
They change from one country to another so you will have to access the firmware locally.
This usually fixes silly problems such as this.

this error indicates a problem with the fuser unit.
if you are an end user, you will have to check warranty status with you nearest service agent and have the fuser replaced free or get a quotation if it is out of warranty

It might be the tray Feeder not placed properly or the printer needs a service if not done in the last six months. Contact to your nearby Repair shop and Service centre.

Check you have not set the paper source to "Letter" in Printing Preferences if so chnge it to "A4"

Right Click to get this option when you are in "Printers and Faxes"

Also check "Page Setup" in the program from which you are trying to print as these options override those set in "Printing Preferences"

check the gear in the dev unit. also try and turn the mag roller by hand it might be jammed up

drum unit is not in all the way. push it in
