Bought a 4300hp Cb new not receiving or talking

Brand new. ? it is still on 10meter... there is a conversion to make them work on cb frequencies. although they should have tuned up and converted when you purchased it.. at no cost...

Convert 11 meter to 10

you would need to take to a cb shop. if you never done this before. its simple process.. should cost less then $25 to have someone do this. correctly. they should even setup and tune it for that price also.. so its ready to go. tune ups should be free at a good shop. and there shouldn't be any bench fees involved. just saying. or thats how the shops are here in TX. anyways.

I bought a used connex 4300hp. i had it "so

IT could??? peak power, 14-15volts yeah.. the 4300 should put out 80w by itself.. as long as you have a low deadkey ie 1-5watts it should be fine. just don't put high wattage into an amp like that.. it will get hot QUICKLY.!!.. make sure your swr's are low low low.. 1.7:1 or lower... so your not getting reflected power... i would put a wattmeter with swrmeter like a mfj. or vectronic cross needle meter inline just to monitor it.... they go for $75 @ most places. Good investment... call email if need more help

Why do i get talkback thru the radio speakers

Oin 2 may be grounding, or the relay contact is not opening to break the circuit of the recieve section. Or your SWR is so bad that what you are hearing is from energy transfer alone and copper corrosion can act as the detector diode.

I don't charge to SET SWR"s .. only if the cust needs a insulating washer or another antenna, or new coax, so-239 etc... I would be glad to help you.. let me know if we can CB Shop Temple, TX Any shop shouldnt charge you just to see if it works!!

I have a brand new connex 4800 dxl straight out of the box, I bought it 3 years a go and just took it out of the bx for the first time and installed it and when i turned it on it was working fine for

  • Sounds like you had a problem with the antenna set up or the corresponding connectors. If not done and checked right you will get an SWR through the roof. When the SWR is high the heat is returned back down the coax to the back of radio and right to the final transistor and smokes it.
  • Your radio being in a box for 3 years should not have really had any effect on its performance. There could have been some dust collect in there. You might have had the power turned up to high. Pop the covers off and see if anything is burnt. That's the first step.
  • Hope this helps.

Your radio has a high power output transistor and it is attached the the rear frame of the radio. This produces the heat you feel after a long keying session. The problem with the wipers is caused by RF getting into the vehicle's computer. All sorts of wierd things can happen. Check with your car dealer. He may have a factory solution. Make sure your SWR is good.
