Samsung HLS4676S Television Questions & Answers
I have a loud popping
You have a bad audio output IC in the main board, you have a couple options as long as you don't use the sound from the TV...one is order a new main but if it was me I would take the back off and follow the wires that go to the speakers and unhook that plug.

You have a bad DLP chip or bad mirrors. Contact a repair place like rivervalleyelectronics.net and they can repair it for cheap all you have to do is ship it to them.
Tv have a humming sound,
Possible that the noise can be associated with a faulty frequency in the switch mode power supply. So if you see a blurred or warbled picture then check the main capacitor in the power supply as it can be faulty and so produce the A/C ripples in he power so that the SMPS works with a difference.
I have a Samsung HLS4676S
Hi,
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.
You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this help to rectify the problem.....Do take care

The picture is gettin` darker and I have the
projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone outProjection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
- Screen looks 3D
- Colors don't line up
- One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
- Screen is bowed or warped.
- TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.
Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Trying to connect PS3 to
So I had this same problem. I found that when I hooked to a 1080p TV my PS3 was working, however when I hooked to my 1080i it said Not Supported Mode. So I then hooked to the 1080p and told my PS3 to limit it's self to 1080i mode and hooked it to my Samsung TV and it worked just fine. Give that a try and it should solve the problem. Hope this helps.

I HAVE A HLS4266W AND
Hello,
This is not as easy as you think. I had the same thing happen to one of my flat
panel monitors and called up Samsung, since it was still under
warranty.
Each pixel is lit up, all of them converge to form the
picture you see. When that pixel "dies" or goes out, you will see
nothing but the white, thus the little white dots on the screen.
Samsung told me they would replace
the monitor, that fixing the problem would be cost prohibitive, i.e.
more than the monitor originally cost. The entire board would have to
be replaced.
So I would suggest you take the TV to a local repairer to fix the problem for you.
Good luck.
Samsung DLP HL50a65 Turns on and off, funny smell
I am amzaed you have had it for 3 years, this usually occurs about 18 months from purchase. Samsung, however are good to deal with than most.
Stop turning it on in the hope it will self reapair. It is more likely to self combust! The capacitors on the sustain boards have died, expanded and possibly split.
This is generally as a result oif poor components ( made in korea or china) being used to keep the price down. However the life expectancy is compromised.
This is not a DIY repair ( many have tried this option only to find it does not work out . Mainly becausde all 3 boards are recommended for chaning and they need to be set up correctly with the right feeder voltage to each of them.
an estimated repair cost for your set is in the $500 dollar range
