Unfortunately, many inkjet printers require all the cartridges to be present and not empty in order to print anything. An inexpensive solution would be to buy a inkjet refill kit and chip reset utility. (many cartridges are "smart" and require a reset in order for them to think they're full)

can you atleast do a stand alone copy? and are you getting any error msgs when you scan? whats your OS by the way?

It could be timing issue with print head or the feed mechanism. You will have to get a service manual if you want to fix it yourself.

Not really cordless wifi, you are connecting to the router or office network using a network cable. There would be ways around it using a powered wifi access point hub to the printer and use that to wirelessly connect to the router, but probably not cost effective.
