I have read that the imbalance/drum problem is a known problem and should be covered under warranty. also, that the smell is also a known problem and can only be fixed by replacing the outer gasket. Which seems like a waste of time, as how long would it take for the new gasket to smell?

May have a piece of cloth, plastic etc that may be stuck on something between the belt and the drive system, have a look underneath/back to see if anything is there.

I would unplug the washer to reset it. if you have already hit the power button to turn the unit off and it failed to respond. Newer washer machines are like computers, and smart phones these days. you have to reboot them because they do sometimes lock up. Pull the cord for about 5 minutes and see if that resolves your issue.

I just had the same problem with my MayTag washing machine - F3 & E2 error codes.I cleaned out the drain trap then proceeded to remove the top and rear panels to check the Temperature Sensor. The sensor was tested with an Ohms meter and found to be working properly.I went over the wiring from the Temp Sensor and found that both black wires had been 'cut' under one of the zip ties near the bottom of the washer.I had to reconnect them with marretts and presto; the washer works perfectly again. If you encounter this same problem - be diligent in going over the wiring. I missed it the first time around.It's an easy fix for anyone who can strip a wire of the plastic coating.Good luck :)

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Drive belt may be broken or slipped off or your motor brushes may be worn and need replacing.

Try using the extra rise cycle.I hope that helps.

personally i would let it ride. if it's a problem it will show itself in time but if it gets on your nerves you can take it out yourself

this sounds like a motor & controler/ the 4000's used a DC motor and they changed it to a/c . the two parts come in a motor kit . and will solve the problem .. the part # is 12002039 . thanks and hope this helps **** and thanks for using fix ya .

If it won't run at all then the problem is with the motor that is bad and needs replacement, also check the wiring from the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Yes it does have bearings and belt drive as well , and youre rite , they need to be either oiled or replaced . The bearing is wat u need to replace. Give it for service at an authorzed service center

He would be right, you can repair but you will need to replace the tub and its and expensive fix

I mostly answer front load problems but ' out of balance' is a common problem with both!
So- I don't know your particular machine but the initial cure is the same.
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)

Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine (sorry about my UK spelling!) and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal drum suspension is malfunctioning.

LD is long drain error usually an indication of an obstruction in the drain hose or the pump is not working check the drain hose first from the pump to the outside of the unit if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick
