Maytag Neptune front load washer ??? Is there a filter ???
I have a Maytag front loader MAH6700AWW. I just pulled the pump lastnight because it had a quarter stuck in it and was making a terrible grinding noise. I was shocked to discover that there is absolutely no filter trap on this machine. If anything gets past the rubber boot, and coins can and do... you need to wish for luck in that you do not wipe out your pump. I was shocked that this machine had not filter trap between the pump impeller and the tub drain. All newer machines have these. The LG and most have a trap door on the front you open to access the trap. Some of the earlier front loaders required that the bottom front panel be removed. No such animal on this Maytag. Probably yours as well.

I rented the tool and it worked fine. The replacement steel washer had an extra rubber insert that took me a few assemble/test/disassemble cycles to find. That cost me time and the $90 late surcharge on the rental. All told though, it went as described online and in the dvd that came with the rental. Just see that the replacement parts fully match what you are replacing.
My question is whether someone else has done this and had the new bearings last more than a couple months. Two and a half months in, the washer is winding up as when the first bearings went bad. This is not a good sign, and I question the quality of the bearings.
Any feedback?
Makes loud noise in spin cycle
The problem is that the seals are leaking and allowing water to attack the tub bearings.
You need new tub seals and bearings.....not as difficult as it may seem.

How do i unlock the door
Remove the screws holding the door on , pull the door up and off then remove the two opposite side screws, pull the front panel off.you will see a metal bracket on each side that hold the top on remove those , now you should be able to get the switch
How to unlock the door
Is this unit brand new or has it been run before. Make sure the cycle is finished and power is off should open up. I if not unplug unit wait about a minute and then plug in again then try. Reset any fault .then try.
